No, I didn't see the original reply. I can only imagine MrClean, I can only imagine. Something did occur to me a few minutes ago though, the Dolphins and Reds are pretty much the same type of team, just playing different sports.

I do know the rules. We wouldn't want to say the naughty F word, even after an emotional loss. It may offend someone's sensibilities. I agree with Stephen Fry on this topic. :pity:

Did you see what happened after RT fumbled? Buffalo RAN THE BALL. Three times, got a first. Ran it 3 more times and left us w 30 seconds to respond. That's what we shoulda done, shoulda ran than ball instead of getting cute. Dunno if it's Sherm's ego or Philbins instructions or what but they go away from the run At the strangest times and today it back fired on them big time.

Who said you couldn't say the F word? I said it numerous times in this thread because that's what this team causes me to do. Just spell it out as normal.

Reds have more talent on paper relative to the rest of the major league teams than the Dolphins do relative to the rest of the NFL. They just need to find the right skipper. JMO.

I thought we looked like the better team today if not for three plays- the pick 6, the illegal touch, and the sack/strip at the end of the game [when we should've continued running the ball and eating into the clock and then forced their rookie QB to beat a defense that was in his face all game].

.... and if we ran the ball rather than trying to get cute, the worst that would've happened would've been punting, pinning Buffalo deep, and forcing Thad Lewis to beat us with his arm in a 2 minute offense.

More along the lines of finding the right skipper (both front office and coaching staff) is what I meant in the comparison. I do like Walt Jocketty, for what that's worth.

Wonder if they'll go with someone like him, or hire a big name like Larkin?

Who would be a field manager equivalent to WJ?

So far, to my knowledge at least, they've talked to Paul O'Neill and scheduled talks with Bryan Price, the pitching coach. I doubt Larkin will throw his hat in the ring. He's got a sweet gig as it is and I know he likes traveling to watch his son play basketball. But who knows?

As for Miami, well, if I were to throw out a name right now I'd throw out David Shaw.

I meant, I like Walt Jocketty, I dislike Jeff Ireland. Other than pining for Dusty Baker, almost all of Jocketty's moves have panned out in favor of the Reds.

You mentioned Chris Spier before. I remember him as a player. Sort of a Bucky Dent type, but played on worse teams so never got the notoriety. Those kind of tough gritty players of average natural ability often make the best managers. The top managers throughout history were seldom good or better players themselves.

I think he'd be a solid candidate. He was actually the manager for 3 or 4 games at the end of 2012 when Dusty was hospitalized in Chicago. Haven't heard anything about them talking with him though yet.

I read a couple of years ago that Dusty was old school and did not believe in sabermetrics. I personally like sabermetrics very much when it comes to baseball, and although that is more of a GM thing, I'd prefer a manager who sees their value.

Because we have a filter there for a reason. We dont want the word written out. Im sure everyone reading the board has heard/read the word but thats not really the point. The point is Muck and Celt wanted the board kept PG when it was set up. Thats why certain words appear as asterisks.

I happened to be reading at the time and edited it. If theres an issue you can take it up with me. Trust me, I understand youre emotional. I just spent a half hour venting to a friend via text. In the 25 years Ive known that friend hes never heard me as pissed off at the Dolphins as I was today. I couldnt even repost the words coming out of my mouth at that time because it would all come out as asterisks. Trust me I get understand that youre upset after the loss and have every right to be.

Mods have had their posts edited in the past. You cant possibly speak to what you dont know about. Ive gone back and edited my own posts that people made a legitimate case were over the top. None of us profess to be perfect or right all the time.

Can someone describe the last Tannehill fumble when we had the ball and lead with four mins?... Could of he made a play back there to get out if trouble or did he absolutely have no chance?

SpeedBump whiffed the block on Williams, THill was sack/stripped, in FG range for the Bills.

Thill had a half a chance with 33 seconds remaining, it did not pan out.

This is why I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pissed at the steaming pile of crap that is SpeedBump.

"..giving up a sack is like death..."

"..I'm responsible for those 2 4th qtr sacks..."

Deej, normally not this down on athletes, this guy is ****ing death, only bad things happen when he plays.

No chance IMO. Clabo was giving up the INSIDE Shoulder to a lunging Williams as Tannehill dropped back to throw.

Once again when the game was on the line, the OLine failed in protection.

Tannehill could have had more time had Clabo just fell down and forced Mario to step over him.

I didn't blame this loss on the fu&$in stadium, I merely stated that it's got to be hard to come out the tunnel and not find yourself with a lack of passion and motivation...

Do they need to win first and play well at home consistently to regain the trust..yes they do, but if you don't think players aren't affected by what they see, hear and feel, I disagree...

There's a lot of blame to go around.

And comparing QBs, ALL the AFC QBs struggled today. Tannehill was actually the best. Go figure.
