Forum Rules and Regulations

RULES AND REGULATIONS

The basic ground rules for discussion at ThePHINS.com are simple: be polite, use common sense and don't break the law.

We subscribe to the school of 'attack the post, not the poster'. Never make things personal.

Also remember that this is the internet, and sometimes things such as tone and sarcasm don't come across as they are intended. So try and exercise a little patience/restraint.

If something you see offends you or you feel it might need the attention of staff, click on the Report Post button on the bottom-left of that post. This will alert site moderators/admins. Do not retaliate or add fuel to the fire. That only makes matters worse. Let the staff diffuse and handle the situation. That's what they're here for.

And remember, most discipline is handed out privately. Just because you don't see someone burned at the stake doesn't mean the situation wasn't addressed.

If you'd prefer to avoid a member altogether, you may utilize the site's Ignore Feature.

**The #1 rule here is to treat each other with respect.**

  • Language
All publicly displayed messages are limited to the English language. This includes posts, user names, titles, signatures, and any attachments or other forms of public display.

  • Profanity
This site utilizes a profanity filter. Do not attempt to circumvent it in any way.

  • Smack
Smack/trash talk is not allowed unless specifically noted in a forum's description.

  • Signatures and Avatars
Please keep signatures under 500 pixels wide and 300 pixels in height. The maximum signature file size is 50K.
Politics tend to be volatile issues and, because of this, are not allowed to be included in signatures or avatars.

  • Politics
Politics are to be discussed in the appropriate forum (POFO) only. And especially not in the main football forum. We take this one very seriously.

  • Linkage
If you are posting content that originated elsewhere and/or belongs to someone else, you must include a link to said content. Furthermore, copyright guidelines require that you may only post a few lines from said article before providing a link. We ask that you use the quote tags to do so. This keeps the forum neat and tidy.

You may not link, in any manner, to sites or images containing pornography, explicit sexuality, gross violence or anything else determined by staff to be detrimental to the community.

You may not link to sites for promotional purposes without prior permission from Site Admins.

  • Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the use of the words or thoughts of another person as if they are your own. Plagiarism is a dishonest practice that is never acceptable and carries appropriate penalties if you are caught doing so. If you find an interesting quote or idea that was earlier expressed by another member or outside source, it is required that you give the appropriate credit for the idea.

  • Multiple user accounts
One user account per person, please. If you forgotten your password, click the lost password link on the sign-in page. If you'd like to change your user name, please contact an Administrator. You may not use or attempt to access someone else's account without permission. If you attempt to create another account to circumvent a temporary ban, said ban will become permanent.

  • Private/Subscription-Based Forums
You may not copy or re-post any content housed within any of our Private and/or Subscription-based Forums unless:
    • you are the author of said content.
    • have not entered into a binding agreement with ThePHINS.com or its owners regarding said content.
Failure to comply will result in revocation of your subscription without refund and possibly banishment from the site.

  • Messaging and Communications
    Don't alter quoted posts.
You may not use our forums to solicit or advertise.
You may not use the private message system to solicit or advertise.
You may not use the site's extended contact capabilities to solicit or advertise.
You may not share or republish conversations, full or otherwise, that took place within the confines of the private messaging system.

  • Privacy Policy
By using this web site, you agree to be contacted by site administration, regardless of your account settings, when it becomes necessary to do so regarding your account activity.

We will not release any information pertaining to membership save for two exceptions:
    • a perceived threat is made towards the site or any human being
    • under order from law enforcement
  • Reserved Rights
We reserve the right to modify and amend these terms at any time without notice. It is your responsibility to remain informed of current rules and regulations at ThePHINS.com.

We reserve the right to alter, suspend or terminate any account, at any time, for any reason without notice. Any abuse towards our staff and/or management in any form may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account.

If you do not understand or require clarification regarding any of the rules described herein, please Contact Us.

  • Closing Remarks
Finally, and most importantly, please respect your fellow poster. Even if he/she is a fan of another team. We may not always agree. And we may not all have aqua flowing through our veins. But we're all people. We all bleed red. And we all share a passion for football.

We hope you enjoy your stay at ThePHINS.com.
