DNA Evidence: Hitler's Death Still An Open Book

Came across this article earlier today about University of Connecticut researchers who have taken the supposed skull of Adolf Hitler and ran DNA tests on it. The story of Adolf Hitler's death is a familiar one but the evidence found shows that the skull with a bullet hole in it that Russians have had on display since 2000 opens the case once again. The articele says that the supposed skull of Adolf Hitler is in fact the skull of a 40 some year old woman. Now the first thing that comes to your mind is that this is possibly Eva Braun's skull but that does not appear to be the case as pointed out in the article. Here are some quotes from the article:
But could the fragment of skull belong to Eva Braun, who died at 33 and was laid alongside her beloved Führer in the same crater? "We know the skull corresponds to a woman between the ages of 20 and 40," said Bellantoni, but he is sceptical about the Braun thesis. "There is no report of Eva Braun having shot herself or having been shot afterwards. It could be anyone. Many people were killed around the bunker area."
American researchers claim to have demonstrated that the skull fragment, secretly preserved for decades by Soviet intelligence, belonged to a woman under 40, whose identity is unknown.
"The bone seemed very thin; male bone tends to be more robust," he said. "And the sutures where the skull plates come together seemed to correspond to someone under 40." In April 1945 Hitler turned 56.
This is actually pretty big news as it opens this whole case to wide open status again. The skull bone thought to be Hitler's does appear now to be that of someone else. This case is definitely going to get more interesting from here.
The whole article can be found here and is worth the read:

Displaying your enemy's head as a trophy is commonplace among many cultures.Stalin wanted Hitlers head as a trophy and to him this skull was Hitler's head even if it was only as a symbolic gesture.
The russian people believed it was Hitler's head and that was all that was needed. The message was that Stalin defeated Hitler.
Hitler's bodyguards may have hidden his real skull but who cares anymore ?
Having said that some imaginative writers could pick up on this theme and write about a Hitler cult originating from his skull relic....shades of the Da Vinci code .:wink2:
I saw something about this on the history channel.. they said that to his death Stalin maintained that hitler survived

History nuts and conspiracy theorists. :wink2: However without Hitler's actual skull or as of now not even Braun's doesn't that make you want to know more? I mean yes chances are very high that Hitler did die before the end of the war but could it have been murder and then a cover up, could it have been as you said he was taken to a secret location, or best yet for all the conspiracy theorists could he lived in secrecy ala Elvis (possibly sharing the same home)? :wink2: I'm a history nerd so this has me all sorts of interested and no doubt history is being rewritten by this.

It may have been the History Channel show this was shown on as mentioned in the article. Also the Stalin thing is interesting, I always thought since he was tricked by Hitler that he had such a grudge against him and an underlying admiration/fear of him for what he had done that he just couldn't believe he would have died by suicide. That and dictators are known to be a little nutty. :wink2:
