went to see them twice in the 80's during my high school days and they rocked live. had all their gimmicks (spinning guitars, elaborate stage show complete with treadmill like conveyer belts they would use while jamming during the show, etc.). saw them this past weekend in Charleston. these days it is just three guys on stage with a few low end special effects, but they still put on a pretty good show for their age. drummer Frank Beard chain smoked throughout the show, but never missed a beat. extended versions of Tush and La Grange were the highlights for me. their opening act was called Blackberry Smoke, out of Atlanta, and they were pretty good as well. they are a Southern Rock band with some Blues inspiration.
