You can always the picks to trade up, or for another player. Having two firsts and two thirds gives you a lot of options.
Depends, the Eagles need help, he'd fit what they do, but still, rank speculation and nothing more. Defensive secondary is struggling, pass rush is struggling, I know, let's trade our starting SS and best pass rusher! And replace them with even more unproven players! What could possibly go wrong?
We could resign Ryan Baker........lol Really, what could we get for YB? I just don't see anything north of a 6th
I'd suspect something like a player, or a 5th rd pick, say a backup OLB or G, problem is, who is in the mkt for a SS? SD? Not till next week, Giants? Eagles?
A RT would be nice. Dombrowski was a good starter at LT for the Chargers a couple years back. Great thing about Dowbrowski is he's a mauler in the run game and that should excite Sparano.
Taylor on the sideline is a good thing. The man was brought back because he was a past name here and it puts fannies in the seats. To be honest, its a better defense without Taylor in there. He should be receiving his medicare card soon anyway. After his performance last year with the Jets I am surprised we even entertained the idea of this clown being on this football team. Now he can critique the cheerleaders and complain about what they are going wrong. After that he can give his opinion on why the mascot is not living up to his end of the bargain. We could not get a box of cornflakes for this guy, not even an empty box.
Considering how much Ryan loves to put pressure on the opposing QB, the fact that they let Taylor walk should have spoke volumes. Fork------->Taylor.
IIRC, JT was scheduled to make something like 12 mil this year. Not 100% sure on the figure, but it was very high. I'm sure that's why the Jets let him go.
It was a BS contract. He could have earned close to 4 million in 2010 if he hit all his escalators, he hit none so it turned out being 1.75 mil. He supposedly was to get that huge roster bonus and again, if he hit all his escalators, he would make close to 13 million in 2011. Teams write these BS contracts all the time. Nothng was guaranteed to Taylor in 2010 or 2011. After seeing his performance in 2010 the Jets cut him with no ill effect or cap hit to them. It was all " If you do this, you get this " type of contract. The Jets knew dam well he would not hit one escalator, they wanted to know our defense and offense and for Woody Johnson 1.75 mil in an uncapped year was pocket change. We ended up beating them once anyway so it was wasted money on their part as Taylor did crap up there. They had no intention of resigning him this year at all.
