Depends; what type of games do you like? You should look at the Phoenix Wright series plus Apollo Justice, FF3DS, Dragon Quest IV, both Castlevania games, the Megaman ZX games, New Mario Bros, Mario Kart DS, FF12 Revenant Wings, Bangai-O Spirits, Trauma Center, and maybe Elite Beat Agents.
Well I picked up FFIV, Children of Mana, Phoenix Wright (the 2nd one I think), and Brain Age Academy and the Professor game for my fiance. I mainly got it for rpgs.
Then most of the games I listed will keep you going. Definitely pick up DQ4 on the 16th. As for the Phoenix Wright games, play them in order. They're all connected in one big plot arc. Playing them out of order will lead to many "WTF?" moments. 1st game is Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, 2nd is Phoenix Wright Justice For All, 3rd is Phoenix Wright Trials and Tribulations, and the 4th game to date is Apollo Justice Ace Attorney.
also if you have a netflix account, then 360 might be better. netflix and xbox live are teaming up, so you can watch movies on the 360 for no extra charge!
There's a pretty big difference in quality between the Netflix stream and what you can get with Blu-Ray. Besides, it's not really free: you're paying for XBL Gold.
well if you already have a netflix account then it doesn't cost extra..yeah its 50 dollars to play, but thats not that much..its alot better than psn anyway
XBL and PSN do the same basic things, except PSN is free. I'll take that any day. But the basic point is that Netflix streaming won't be near the quality of Blu-Ray. Given a choice between Netflix online and Blu-Ray locally, I take Blu-Ray. Maybe in 10 years when fiber optics proliferate and the average connection speed is 50-100Mbps, 1080p/7.1 streaming will become viable and we can all enjoy it on the PS6 and Xbox 1440.
yeah but you have to rent or buy blu ray movies lol so your basically just paying more. new blu ray movies cost alot
Never said they were free. I just said that Netflix streaming isn't. You have to pay for XBL to get Netflix streaming. I'm arguing video quality, not price.
I don't think it really matters to us end users (although I keep reading from PS3 users that they're upset that games - typically EA ones - are running at the same spec/frame rates as the 360 when there were a lot of boasts by Sony prior to and since launch that it has more power than the 360). I got the 360 as it was the first next-gen console, I would like to get a PS3 especially for blue-ray feature but the only things holding me back is the cost and the fact I like the Xbox live feature. Personally I'm not hung up on exclusives & I'm sure I'm the only xbox user not to have played halo!
If they're blaming Sony for laziness/incompetence on the part of a handful of developers, then their anger is misplaced, to be kind. The PS3 costs the same as the 360 did at launch: $400.
i got the 360. getting on xbox live right now to play madden. very excited about this. havent played madden online since 04 on the ps2. the highest i got ranked back then was in the 3000 range. im aiming for elite status this time. watch the **** out. anyone up for a game?
says i have to go to easportsworld.com to add a friend. that lame. why not just let me add it on the game.
Your getting a bargain on that side of the pond - the 80gb has only just launched over here @ about $560! Think I'll wait for the xmas sales! Thats the end of the debate then!
Hey gish if you want an easy win add me, gt is same baboo72 - trying to make time to get on at some point this weekend!
I say get both or talk to the Mor's dad about getting one of his 2 PS3's (soon to be 3 I believe) and 3 360's. Now after I say that I personally only own a PS3 but that is because I prefer what it has to offer as far as exclusives, Blu-Ray, wireless, free online, and so on and so on. I may get the 360 someday as I have came close several times (there was an original battle between which to get but the PS3 edged out the win) but I am a person that likes to get one console and stick with it which is both stupid and something I enjoy at the same time. I'll make it simple if you have the money get both. If you can only get one get the PS3 for the reasons I listed.
too late. 360 already won. really, it just came down to the name. with sony, im only getting 3. With Microsoft, Im getting 360. Thats 120x's the value!! If it were the other way around (PS360 and XBOX3), I would have got a PS360. Come to think of it, shouldnt the xbox360 be shaped like a sphere? or at least a circle. The only circular part of the 360, is the red ring of death. I hope to avoid that particular roundness.
I have all 3 systems, and used to favor the Xbox360. But I got sick of being nickle and dimed by Microsoft for everything. Since I was a loyal consumer and bought the first version Microsoft rewarded me by making newer cheaper versions with features mine doesn't have. Example: If I want HDMI input, I have to by a new one. **** Microsoft. The only reason I haven't sold my Xbox is because of Gears of War 2. PS3 online play is catching up, and it's free. The games look much better on PS3, IMO. And the built in Blue Ray is nice too. I've come 180 on this. If you don't want to pay hundreds extra for all the online crap over the years, then go with PS3. Edited to add, see you already went the 360 route. Sorry about your luck... Just kidding. But be prepared to cough up cash for all that online stuff. 1 year subscription, pay up. New maps, pay up. New weapons, pay up. New playable characters, pay up. 10 bucks here, 5 there, 12 here. Just not worth it IMO.
I have the 360 myself, but eventually I'd like to get the PS3 in addition. I must say objectively though that the PS3 is probably the better buy. I know he made his decision already but for future people with this problem, I'd like to add: As Monstblitz pointed out, with Microsoft you get nickel and dimed way more than with Sony. Yeah, the system 60 GB is 299, but Sony's 80 GB is 399. If you want Xbox live, chances are you'll need the wireless adapter which is 100 bucks. Then you'll need Xbox live which is 50 bucks, adding 150 bucks to the original 299 that you spent = 449 to Sony's 399. Sony's working on improvements to their online network and their games are becoming better. And who can forget the Blu Ray that I hear is one of the better Blu Ray players around because of the updated 2.0 firmware on them. Maybe at PS3's launch the 360 was still the better buy, but now it's the PS3 IMO. FWIW: I love the 360. And I still would rather play that than the PS3 mainly because of the controller. Sony has to do something about those controllers or make a different model in addition to the current model. Maneuvering the left thumbstick is just too uncomfortable for me.
I was a diehard Sony person. I, however, got a 360 two years ago. I love some of the games, and I really like the 360 controller. However, I got a ps3 about 5 months ago. I was playing my 360 alot...until Madden 09 came out. I got that on the ps3...and since then, I haven't hardly touched my 360. I also got the Socom beta, and, man, I love it. I didn't realize how much I missed playing Socom. The PSNetwork is getting up there with Live...to the point, I haven't bothered re-upping my Gold account. With Resistance 2, Killzone 2, and Socom all coming out soon, the ps3 is going to have some really good shooters. All in all, I do enjoy both systems...but, I gotta say, I hate paying for Live service. At this point, all you really get with Live that you don't get with PSNetwork, is voice chat in game with someone in a different game, and being able to stream your own music while in game.
