You know you might have a few character concerns when:

    -ESPN Dallas

 I for one am shocked. Who else has a history of disturbances at malls? lmao

    Another disaster in the making:

    -Rotoworld

Yikes. That'd certainly be a meeting of the minds. I agree w/the bold, obv. That and I don't trust MSW to stay healthy.

I'm still wishing it's true that Steve Smith (CAR) could be acquired.

Simms Walkers is also a diva WR who mostly complain about not getting the ball even if his team is winning and his past injuries is also something to worry about

His ceiling is a lot higher than MSW's and he doesn't have the diva attitude.

And no, I don't count dropping a teammate as being a diva lol

I dunno, he's 30+ years old, his ceiling is approaching pretty fast IMO. Besides, I don't want anyone trying to beat up Sean Smith in practice lol.

Still, I don't think he's as beat up as you think.

He had 2 solid seasons in 08 and 09. Last year he had to deal w/Clauson who was actually worse than Delhomme.

I think he's got at least 2 more good years left. We obv won't be asking him to do everything like CAR was either. He could thrive with Marshall and Bess.

Lastly, I think he'd be pretty cheap considering what Moss went for.

I live in Charlotte, and I would LOVE to have Steve Smith....he was playing with a hot-garbage QB last year with a weak-*** OC.....Smith is firery, has always been a #1 wr on the panthers, but he would thrive as a #2. He wants to win, hes a veteran, and him opposite Marshall and Bess would be ****ing DANGEROUS.....im all for it, if the price is right.

He would have the same effect as Holmes did in NY imo

I'm not a Deion Sanders fan and think he's a bit too soft - but when it is Sanders saying this about a player (Dez Bryant) - it's pretty bad, imo. Sanders on Bryant:

I hope they exhaust all measures trying to aquire one Wr but I'd prefer Santonio Holmes

I like Santonio because he's both the youngest and highest upside receiver available...

...but then again, he's also going to be the most expensive (it's not close) and he's one more possession away from a lengthy suspension.

Although the negatives neutralize the positives here, he's the best option for building towards the future.

That and there's no reason to believe NY won't resign him.

Salary cap? They have a lot of guys they "want" to bring back.

It just comes down to how much we would want to invest into a moderate risk/large reward wide receiver, because we CAN outbid them.

Well who else would they spend it on?

Can anyone really see them letting both their WRs go? No. Which is the obvious choice between the two: Holmes.

I don't see him jumping ship to come to MIA over NY either.

I'm sure Holmes will be high on the Jets list to resign but they have to trim, or will have to trim alot of salaries. I'm absolutely positive he will jump ship for the right sign. The top dollar sign...$$$$

Edwards is also pretty young, and though I might lean towards a Steve Smith over Edwards, it is always a plus to nab a good player from a division rival and especially those stinking Jetsons.

That would be too good to be true. Smith would make up for us missing out on our boy Ford.

  21. Hurricane

    Hurricane Guest

Well they franchised Harris, but they'll probably negotiate a long-term deal with him...

Then there's Cromartie, Edwards, maybe Brad Smith.... plus Holmes?

Plus a 1st round draft pick... plus any other free agents they try to pursue?

    http://www.nyjetscap.com/salary.html

According to that, they have $100 million on the roster now.

Edwards may not be "obviously" better than Holmes, but he is an obviously better financial option.

Cromartie sure sounds like he's out the door if you've been keeping up w/that talk.

Brad Smith's financial value took a hit with the change on kickoffs.

And I just don't see them going w/Edwards over Holmes. Not to mention Edwards is another diva who I'd hate to see left alone to make his own decisions in South Beach.

One of my faves too. We could really use his fire on our offense. I agree, if Carolina's in a rebuild then he should be else where while he's in or hitting the twilight of his career. If we could get even 2 solid years out of him, he'd be worth it. Hypothetically speaking, if it came down to a 3rd----- would you rather have Smith or Little?

Anyone else think it’s odd how we never hear about linebackers or cornerbacks with diva attitudes?

How about quarterbacks, offensive tackles, or fullbacks?

    No? Just wide receivers?

    Boy, that’s weird.

In that case, I can’t wait for Leonard Weaver, Ovie Mughelli, Lawrence Vickers, and Lousaka Polite to start displaying diva tendencies. That ought to be fun. “I don’t block, I only convert on 4th down!”

What's your point? That people only use the term for WRs? So are you calling this discrimination?

There's examples of divas for more positions than WRs.

QB - VY, Jamarcus Russel, FAVRE

    LB- Bart Scott, James Harrison

    CB- Deion, Deangelo Hall

    TE- Shockey

    K- Feely, Jeff Reed

lol And stop acting like the WRs in question like Edwards don't deserve to be called divas.

Hmmmm..Smith will be 32 when the season starts..Ive seen many accounts for this to be the age where they sustain a bit, and can keep their speed and explosiveness, {look what moss did at that age} Steve Smith has very quick twitch makeup so his 32 is different then the norm....

Greg Little, 6'3, young, and just so physical while he plays the position..That physical nature for which he plays makes me drool..

Its a very tough decision, I'll go with the rookie with the deciding factor being recent injuries to Steve.

Young: mentally unstable, not a diva.
    Favre: egotistical, not a diva.
Russell: lazy, dumb, not a diva.
    Scott: what? Not a diva.
    Harrison: crybaby, not a diva.
    Deion: diva. You got one!
Hall: mix of Favre and Harrison. Not a diva.
Shockey: see Scott. Not a diva.
Feely: As in Jay? What? Not a diva.
Reed: drunken frat boy, not a diva.

I’m simply pointing out the positional bias.
