See, that's the problem, cnc. Now you're taking her side without even hearing Wade's side of the story. Neglects his children? Based on what? Why should we believe her? Who is to say she didn't cheat as well? Calling Dwyane Wade a "scum bag" without knowing what all is true, if anything, is pointless. She could have ONE thing against him, which is driving her to add more to the story in order to ruin his image. I mean, for all we know, she's been bitter because he doesn't have much time for the family due to his profession, so SHE's the one who cheated. For all, he's the one who filed the divorce. Simply put, we have no idea.. and it's not our place to even gauge an idea. It's not our business. This is why the media sucks.

What you're doing here is no better than Seth's claim that a woman married to a superstar should stay in her place, and accept it for what it is. Come on, dude. You're taking sides as if you know the exact truth.

She filed legal papers, she didn't hold a press conference, at least not that I've seen. Hard to keep things behind closed doors with people have access to your court filings.

I don't think people are labeling Wade as a bad guy. I think people (like me) are laughing at the fact that some here think it's fine to commit adultery because he (or any other star) is rich and famous.

I think UT put it perfectly, if you can't resist the temptation of cheating on your wife, the woman you vowed to spend the rest of your life with in fidelity, then you are weak and should file for a divorce.

Now, who knows if this is even true, and like you said, Wade was the one who filed for the divorce. So I don't think people are going against Wade, they're going against the image that some people have that being rich and famous automatically gives you immunity.

Another poster also said this, and I agree...this is the first I've heard anything bad about Dwyane Wade. He seems like a classy guy, but we'll have to see what happens as all the facts start coming out to the public.

Trust me, even though I'm not a basketball fan, I hope none of this is true.

I don't know the dynamic of their relationship. I don't know the state of their relationship when he was/started cheating. There's probably blame to go around.

But a vow is a vow. As a Christian, you are to take this one above all others seriously. If you don't wish to keep it, for whatever reason, end the relationship. You have free will.

I'm not saying he can't/shouldn't be forgiven. None of us are perfect. But she has every right to be upset with him if he cheated. And he'd have the same right if the shoe is/was on the other foot.

All this stuff about celebrity means nothing in the grand scheme of things. A vow is a vow. Integrity is integrity. Scrape away the BS and that's what you're left with. The levels of access and temptation may differ. But that's part of life and one of the trade-offs that come with fame and fortune.

I'm not saying I would or wouldn't cheat if I were in his situation. I can't say whether I'd be strong enough to resist the temptations. I've never been and will never be in his position. But I do know right from wrong.

i bet 90% end up cheating on their wives anyways. Just stay single, bang the groupies in every city your visting and wear rubbers. Get married when youre in your 30s and late in your game.

At first glance this sounds like a bitter ex-wife with an axe to grind... Unfortunately for Wade, Michael Strahan and others, these allegations are made public. None of it would surprise me if true, but regardless it wont affect the way I fell about Wade as a player with the Miami Heat.

its not that the women should stay in their place, get in the kitchen, do the dishes... but women aren't helpless and defenseless either. and whether you're dating the 17 yr old big man on campus, or marrying an NBA superstar... there is a "BUYER BEWARE". and its unrealistic to expect these guys or girls to act the same as Bob who is the assistant manager at Kinkos.
And it doesnt matter if youre a man or women! Guy Ritchie should've saw Madonna's infidelity coming a mile away. I won't shed a tear for him, thats on him. Cmon he really didn't see that coming?

there's a reason celebrity marriages fail so often. the door to new connections, and the culture of divorce are both huge. thats it, thats the culture. its not right, its not fair but its the truth. and we take a Bradgelina who spends half their time making movies, and the other half spending all thier time and money trying to help make the world a better place. yet they are hated, and the world sides with poor jennifer aniston, who sits poolside from her malibu mansion sippin martinis with john mayer. who's doing more to make the world a better place? who is hated more? why? bradgelina broke up a marriage, they are cheats, they are scum. yet they feed more mouths, and exhaust all their resources trying to make the world a better place than practically anyone. normal people hold on to basic principles that do not apply to everyone. they think its so easy to resist their heart, and these temptations, but the fact is they have no idea what desirable people go through.

i was having dinner with a guy, who's 22 year old daughter was dating a well known, successful poker player. this man told his daughter, "have fun with him, enjoy his company, but not for long." thats sound advice! if you want the stable nuclear family, these aren't the type of people to get that with. hell, if you go to a big high school, don't expect a long, quality relationship with the captain of the cheerleaders. people with options and people who are desired, way more often than not, succumb. its not nice, its not fair. its just the truth. average joe who is married to average betty, who make up the gross majority of us, are not outrageously desirable, and DO NOT HAVE THESE PROBLEMS.

and part of what i said sounded worse than intended. and it may have been taken out of context. i maintain that with any wildly successful or popular individual, there is a "buyer beware". in this case, d-wade's wife, in the interest of her kids, and herself, needed to pipedown and know her role in this. in the big scheme of things. hurting her children's daddy's image won't help anyone. hiring loose lipped legal idiots who let info like this slip is not helping her interests or her kids interests. her role was to manage the house and the kids like any stay at home mom. her role now is to maintain the dexterity of what will be her main financial source.

and to her credit too, maybe she was forgiving and gave him second chances, third chances. but then its publicly known that d-wade is bangin gabby union and other starlets? then yeah she may say, if you cant even cheat and be discreet, and not make me look like a public fool... then i can see Mrs. D-Wade gettin very volatile...very vengeful.

but...dont put your kids through the ringer. dont take the legs out from your money train, unless she has headhunters lining up with a bunch of 6 figure jobs, i dont know. but that adultering man, is still her and her kids mealticket as far as i know. and as far as i know, its all slander and horse****.

being from NJ, I have seen countless men, some very close to me, absolutely bent over and reamed by the court system in this "no fault" state. cheating wives, who start off their mornings with meds and a tall pour of red wine. they get full custody, tens of thousands in alimony and child support, while the system turns a blind eye towards men, not offering so much as a public apology. and i feel the media often does this to men too.

now, to digress the "knowing the role" also pertains to managing a successful situation. if you are married to a celeb, and someone with a legacy, your role is to raise the kids manage the house, and have realistic expectations that your spouse isn't going to have a conventional home life...AT ALL. but dont start complaining about it, you signed up for it, for the fancy cars, homes, jewels, clothes, and that ever so important security. no that doesnt make cheating right, but dont forget who you are marrying either!
and the role is a gray thing, its not black and white. if you are a doctor making 400K a year, your stay home husband better have that house clean and the kids well prepared and taken care of. thats THIER role, its a job. and if she isnt around so much, tough! she wants to take a weekend spa with the ladies, she's earned it and is entitled to it!

i work, my wife teaches, we have a 1 yr old girl. my friends call me whipped, bust me if i cant do the yearly guys Vegas trip. maybe if she was a stay home, and we had more home time together, or more money so one of us didnt have to work... but thats not our case. we have the same exact role in the family. spouse/parent/worker. and as a result, we're both always busy, and no trip for me. thats my role, and thats me knowing my role to make my situation as successful as possible.

i cant reiterate enough, how desirable superstars are, yet they should be more feared than desired. its a risky bet. its not a man verses a woman thing. its a cultural, desireability, and fame thing. and im not talking about right or wrong, im talking about the way it is. you married a 22 year old D-wade, dont be shocked if he's not any better than JFK, Martin Luther King Jr, Bill Clinton, or any of the other great man who couldn't keep their junk in their pants are. you signed up to be with this guy, you new there'd be risks atypical from the normal spouse, now handle your business the right way, and for god sakes, protect you and your kids interests.

    Well thought out response Seth.

In DWADES case, I think the part that is most shocking is the public perception that he was a religious family guy that was above everything you speak of.

Yes, Muck's post is a great post. He laid it down how it should be. The difference is that he didn't take sides, nor did he make assumptions. You on the other hand (and no disrespect), pretty much defended the wife and threw Wade under the bus when you have no idea what all is true. Not only that, but we don't even know if she's just as guilty as he is. None of us are in the position to trash Wade.. or the ex-wife. We don't know the complete truth. That's all I'm saying.

Well, that along with the fact that if I was in his position, yes, I'd do Gabrielle Union. I'm sorry.

Dude, did you miss the part that these are in COURT DOCUMENTS, which are always public domain, unless sealed by judges order.....and we went through a whole rigamaroll just a couple of years ago in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties where judges were sealing cases that had no legitimate cause to be sealed.

This woman did not run to the media, the Media scoured the court cases and found this one, and ran with it.

    Geeeeeeeeesh.....read people, READ ! :tantrum:

another one that can't read ! :tantrum: It is from court documents that she filed for divorce. They are always public. She didn't run to the media, she is not begging for attention, she did nothing wrong here. The news media outlets have someone they specifically employ to scour court documents all day long in order to find stuff like this.

actually yes, I did miss that they were court documents in the article, and if you'd check the time line of the thread, this was one of the first 8 or 10 posts...where that tid bit of info enlightened me WAY after the fact. so why dont you read yourself dude.

and these are still allegations.. not truth...yet. the point of that post was stating that she should NOT make such allegations to her and her kids sole financial source. and in a sense, its not much better than running to the media anyway. if her attorneys where worth a single grain of salt, they'd have made her aware of the imminent backlash by making these legal claims.

you're seriously gonna go a cherry pick this old exhausted thread? do a better job then.

Seems like a long way to go if the STD was false.

Either she thought she had something she didn't, she got it from someone else, or they're negotiating.

Then again, the article also cites a former business partner suing Wade who makes some allegations that could lend credence to Mrs. Wade's claims.

The moral of the story is, if you're a young athlete, try not to get married until it looks like your playing days are over.
