Sam's workout numbers are a little concerning, but still, what he does on the field are the main thing. Getting too hung up on workout numbers backfire much of the time.
Remember, some of the top Dolphins defenders of all time did not work out well at their combines. Bryan Cox, 4.9-5.0 forty, 9 reps on the bench. He could rush the passer pretty well. Don't recall Zach's workout numbers, but they were nothing special. Going to other positions, the great Richmond Webb only had 14 reps on the bench at the 1990 combine.
When Shula took Cox, who was coming out of a non football powerhouse in Western Illinois, he passed on another OLB out of Oklahoma who had a top combine workout, James Goode. Never heard of him? That tells you all you need to know about bypassing football players for underwear Olympians.

With the interest of Emory University's sports marketing program, the social media site twitter has helped engage in a particular study as to which NFL markets would embrace Michael Sam as a member of their community.

The study looked at various tweets with "Michael Sam" in them, and then determined whether they were favorable or not.

The No. 1 market the study states would embrace Sam is New York. The place that ranked last was Nashville, home of the Tennessee Titans.

Rounding out the top 10 of favorable destinations for Sam based on the study, in order are St. Louis, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, Kansas City, Washington, Philadelphia, Tampa and Seattle.

Following Nashville on the other side of the spectrum, in order, are Oakland, Green Bay, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Jacksonville and Cleveland.

Not sure what your point is here … But, that 25 inch vert is a big deal. It will drop him down. I think some team will take a chance on him in the 4th or 5th round. I would not be surprised if Jones did so at Dallas. Also think the Steelers would give him a go in the late rounds if there (6 or 7) simply because Rooney is more open-minded and also because they have a penchant for developing great LBs who don't have the measurables.

Sam, or anyone else, can work out at their pro day, improve on a poor combine, and with a solid workout all would be forgiven.
