man, witten is acting like a douche. mentor the new guys and be a team player. he isn't going to unseat you from your roster spot, help the team groom the guy.

I don't know if Witten is being the douche or is Bennett just not paying attention in meetings, etc. Bennett struggled on early in camp. He didn't work very hard so when I could understand why Witten is frustrated with Bennett. I do hope that players help out the younger guys but when that guy isn't paying attention or giving his full effort, I can understand the frustration.

yeah i can understand frustration, and yes i've seen "hard knocks" and it looks like bennett isn't all there...

BUT if the guy is a rookie and is asking a veteran for help or has questions, just help the guy out. obviously witten isn't going to have to hit the weight room in lieu of bennett or run his patterns for him. why not help? same team...

My bad if that came off wrong about Bennett's struggles on Hard Knocks. Wasn't intended to.

I do agree with you to a certain point about helping him out. If he needs help with the playbook or a tip, then yes help him out. But if the guy isn't giving it his all and thinks he can rely on you to "tell" him what to do numerous times then that's not going to work.

The bold is what I'm talking about. Bennett needs to get it in his head that he has to apply himself to this job if he plans on succeeding. Your not going to do a good job if you continue to rely on others to lead you.

I love helping people but if a person constantly is asking me for help on things that we went over then I'm going to get frustrated and that is the case here:

Again the bold, this is what I was talking about in the statement right before the quote above. Bennett has to figure this out on his own because its frustrating when you go over this stuff and the other guy is not giving it his best to learn and then asks you what to do.

from watching all of Hard Knocks this season, I wouldn't be shocked if Bennet got cut from his lack of effort, humility, and respect...and I definitely would not want to hold his hand through camp.

unfortunately, the guy shows up in games thus far.

No way Bennett gets cut imo. Only thing I could see happening is that he gets demoted to third string. They have guy they like in Tony Curtis. He's a big TE, around 6'5. Third year player that has good leaping ability and is a good red zone target (see the late regular season game against the Giants).
