i doubt he comes back as HC- honestly i hope he does because i feel he has direction that this Offense can go in while keeping the defense stable...note that depth wise this year was horrible but i would like to see who he gets in FA and in the draft offensivly to build an offense that can average 25 ppg, i know he is not the long term answer but both our coach and GM have a vision for the offense i would love to see them get at least one more year to add some quality offensive guys and after that who cares who the coach is they will have pretty good offense to go on
First of all, if Billy DOES come here, I think that the current coaching staff stays with the exceptions of CAM's desicions... If anyone know about not changing things, it's Billy... He is not coming into this with a blind eye and I hope that he appoaches it with an open mind... I am not really comfortable with the thought that he may be hired and I am only hoping that he sees things as they are...
i would be fine if he was ocoordinator, just let bill bring in some good talent. hes a scary judge of talent.
League rules prevent Cam being demoted. He'll either HC or gone. Ethan Skolnik reported that Bill likes Cam for whatever that's worth, he also like horse racing, maybe he'll name a horse HC.
I think that Cam deserves a 2nd shot. He was dealt a bad hand for his first year, with the cupboard being bare of talent and injuries to key starters and Dom Capers having a less than stellar year as DC, and Keith Armstraong's special teams coverage being abominable. Bill doesn't seem like the guy to give too many second chances, and what better way to make the 'phins his team than by installing his choice at HC? My prediction - Cam gets let go for the wrong reasons.
I think Cam gets let go. Here's why, it seems clear that Jason Taylor is not a big fan of Cam's at least thats what we have been led to believe. Having said that, I'm sure he has a following of core vets that feel the same, including Zach Thomas. Parcells will get the vibe of this team and what they think, and POOF...Cam is gone. Sorry Cam, I hear Atlanta has a job opening....lol.
considering Dallas has a good offense, and Jason Garrett is their OC, id love to bring him as our OC or heck...even HC. u cant say Cam sucks when he was OC for San Diego, a team that went 14-2. like one guy wrote, league rules prevent him from being demoted. otherwise id like to have him as OC. somehow tho, itd be nice to bring in Jason Garrett
Again, it has to be said.....THERE ARE NFL RULES THAT DON'T ALLOW A HC TO BE DEMOTED TO A POSITION COACH ON THE SAME TEAM IN THE NFL. A position coach CAN be demoted as Mularky was last season, but Head Coaches absolutly cannot be demoted on the same team.
Bill will clean house........... I'll guess Kirk Ferentz will be named HC...he a Bill Parcells guy I'm not sure Wanye would okay Maurice Carthon (another coordinator wanting to be HC)
Its Tuna Call all of the way.....Whether CAM goes or Matt Ryan is selected as the the Franchise........no one else's
yes, Cam will stay even if Parcells comes to the Fins. A seasoned vet like Parcells will see that the amount of injuries to the team this year are astronomical and give Cam another chance. We'll see.
Here is what Parcells should do: Bring in June Jones of Hawaii as head coach. The Tuna can then trade down with Dallas, bring in extra picks and maybe a couple Cowboy players. Then draft Colt Brennan to be our new QB. Our offense becomes 100% better right away.....then we balance out our draft with defense/offense and are right back in the thick of things in the AFC.
Word is that Tuna was recommending that Hezuinga keep Cam before. I don't see that changing. However, Bill will have say in the assistants Cam has. Bill also likes the 3-4 defense, that's good for us. It took Tuna 3 years to rebuild the Cowboys, he'll give Cam the same chance.
I think Cam stays, and I think it's part of the reason Huizenga is going after Parcells in the first place: from his discussions with Parcells he knows he'll keep Cam. Remember, Wayne has been walked out on before. I don't see him doing the same thing to a coach he just hired and dealt a lousy opening hand to. Cam stays IMO.
I see that as more likely... Get rid of a veteran who has no place in thee 'Phins of the future, or get rid of a coach because a veteran that has no place on the 'Phins of the future doesn't like him? Not a hard decision. Either way, JT will not have a say on whether Cam stays or goes. I, personally think he stays as HC, but he has to bring in an OC...
I also doubt JT will be here next here...I see him getting traded for a 2nd rounder. I think Zach will still be here for another year.
I think that's logical. Fans would have demanded change after a disastrous season like this, and Parcells at the top is enough of a change. Here's one thing I appreciate about Parcells; no nonsense that we're better than our record. There have been threads here implying that injuries have impacted our performance and our record. That's exactly the type of thing Parcells rejects, and rightfully so. He was the originator of, "You are what you are."
im not sure i want cam to stay yet but i think maybe bill will give him one more year but he has to really push us close to a .500 record if not one to keep his job.
Before Parcells, I believe there was a 99% chance of Cam getting fired. But, against the logic that Huizenga's pursuit of Parcells is a clear sign of dramatic changes to come, I think that the "stability" that Parcells would bring may just buy Cam one more year. And unless Cam brings a dramatic turnaround in 2008, he is just a place holder for a "Parcells guy".
parcells is long known for keeping and utilizing vets, i doubt he is the kind of guy who will clean out guys like zack and jt.
I think there is a big sentiment that a guy that only wins one game can’t be retained (Drew Rosenhaus) But you look at so many first season coaches like Jimmy, etc and it’s really a typical thing. Teams get new coaches when they have been bad for a few years, so any new coach is stepping into rebuilding. I can see some tweaking of our coaching staff (Keith Armstrong, Dom Capers) and some sort of perceived notion that we have super talent in the office now that Parcels is in the house. Maybe done to appease season ticket sales for next year, assure the value of the franchise for the pending sale. Funny how Wayne was really upset about the leak of the sale, because obviously Parcels said no thanks when there was sale talk. Then Wayne nixes the sale talk and the Tuna is back on board. There is much going on here, and it isn’t all about what’s happening on the field, me thinks.
us walking out on cam after one bad year with crap that was left to him from the former quitters, would be like saban walking out on us. I think Parcells comes in, talks to all, evaluates the playbook, the players, Cam, the rest of the coaches, the direction the team is going in and everything about the organization, AND THEN make a decision(s). No one worth their salt comes in and cans everyone JUST to bring in their own favorite guys. You evaluate first and see how the team is and where it is at and going and make decisions based on careful evaluation of all that. If he feels another HC is more suited for the team or better than Cam then cam goes. If not then cam stays. He may need another year to see how Cam is as a HC, to see what direction they started in, if it is the right direction. It is called making experienced and informed decisions. All this speculation that Wild Bill comes in and starts shooting people and replacing them just with his own, JUST BECAUSE they are his favorites is just that, speculation. If Bill did it that way then he is not the guy we thought he was or the guy we need. like another said, Cam was a heck of a goo OC at SD. He was handed plain Sh++ when he came to miami and it takes time to dig out of that. Even Parcells would not touch the HC of this team last year. That is prob why he wants FO and not HC, The wasteland that Nicky left, he would rather help straighten out from a higher position where he has more pull than on the field dealing with the desolation boulevard that is the team now. But if he jumps in and fires Cam, just because he likes someone better, or a favorite then Wild Bill is NOT who we want...........
