William Shatner: Nobody Liked Me

Wow I didn't know this. I thought they were all close friends.

 

Ouch, a slap to the face......

 

Now now, that's not true. William Shatner likes William Shatner.

 

This doesn't seem logical.

 

What's next? the cast of friends wheren't really friends?????

 

Or Jerry Seinfeld isn't Jewish?

 

I had thought that Galaxy Quest was a sort of takeoff on how the old star trek crew felt about Shatner in real life?

Shatner is a hoot on Boston Legal...

 

I guess this is new news to those not in the Star Trek know...

 

He was(is) so full of himself that he couldnt see that others didnt like him. He was a pretty arrogant D-Bag according to most of the people he worked with.

He's taken that arrogance and made it funny in a self debasing way.. the good Captain is laughing at himself with us this time. I thought his special on how he made the world what it is today was really funny.

 

That could be what made him such a perfect Captian Kirk. James T. Kirk is not passive, having to deal with hostile Klingons, Romulans, and others. He brought a kind of brute force to the character that made it memorable.

I thought that I had posted on a thread on this, but now I can't find it. I met his cousin last week at a synagogue in Tiberias. Coincidentally, the "T" in James T. Kirk stands for Tiberius for whom the city was named.

"disliked" is actually incorrect as that is past tense and assumes the hate has passed.

 

YEah, actually I read another Autobiography about 10 years back entitled "I am Spock" (Any guesses who wrote it?)


Nimoy was very damning of Shatner in that book, and stated that he befriended Shatner almost ouf of pity. Said that Shatner was very arrogant and actually didnt want to associate with most of the other cast.

Dont know how this could be new news to Shatner actually...

 

I would hate him after he directed Star Trek 5. That movie was a pile

 

Arrogance has a way of driving friends away .He was a scene stealer on Trek and actors dont like that.

I remember Nimoy didnt want to have anything to do with Star Trek after the series ended but the money being offered was too good to pass up in the end.

 

Not sure if you guys remember years ago Shatner and Sulu (George Takei) were on Stern and Bill was shocked to learn Takei didnt like him. How can you be that oblivious

 

Shatner was the shizznit. I grew up wanting to be cool like him.

Shatner is going to pass away sooner than later, and when he does the world is gonna miss his cheesy, self-deprecating mug a lot more than it thinks it will.
