Let me start by saying this Dolphin team for the past 4 years have only 7 victories against teams with a winning record

in 2008 we beat the Jets 9-7 and the Pats 11-5
our other 9 victories came from against teams with a combined record of 70-106

    San Diego...8-8
    Buffalo.......7-9 twice
    Denver......8-8
    Seattle......4-12
    Oakland.....5-11
    StLouis......2-14
    San Francisco...7-9
    Kansas City....2-14

In 2009 we had 3 wins against teams with winning records
Jets 9-7 twice and the Pats 10-6 once

    our other wins were against
    Buffalo...6-10
    Tampa...3-13
    Carolina...8-8
    Jacksonville...7-9

2010 we had 2 wins against teams with a winning record
Jets 11-5 and a decimate Green bay due to injuries 10-6

    our other wins came from
    Buffalo...4-12
    Minny...6-10
    Cincy....4-12
    Tenn.....6-10
    Oakland...8-8

2011 we haven't beat any teams with a winning record
    wins against
    KC...8-8
    Wash...5-9
    Oakland...7-7
    Buffalo...5-9 twice

My question to you is if we only have 7 wins in 4 years
against teams with winning records what is the cause??

    Lack of ability
    Poor coaching
    Poor drafting/free agents
    all of the above

With ZERO wins this season against teams with a winning record so far, it's hard to believe this team is going in the right direction.

The Bills were 5-4 when we first beat them. KC was 4-3. Oakland was 7-4.

That's 3 teams that had winning records when we played them.

Yep, it's Sparano's fault that the teams we beat sucked.

Yeah I guess your going by finishing records, because at the time we played these teams they had winning records. Just an example in 08 when we beat Buffalo, they were 5-1 at the time, along with San Diego off the top of my head.

Another thread rooted in blind hatred rather than looking at the facts at the time the games were played.

Poor drafting? Jake Long, Mike Pouncey and Daniel Thomas have received nothing but accolades. Brandon Marshall, although I was chastizing him at the beginning of the season for dropped TD passes has been on fire. Matt Moore has provided the offense with the leadership and level of play that achieved wins that eluded us for the first 7 games of the season. Cameron Wake, a CFL nobody has created havoc on QB's. Yea, poor drafting and free agent signings.

Daboll's new offense was going to take time to be assimilated by the offense, and the lockout greatly hindered that. Offensively, our problem the last three years was Dan Henning, so I'll give you coaching on that one for the offense.

Well TDK, it is sort of clear there are those who know what they speak of, and those who speak mostly out of an agenda.

The "take a Qb with a #1 pick and it must be top 10!" for example

Since 06, 3 Qb's taken top 10 have led a team to playoffs, Young, Ryan, Sanchez, only one has won a playoff game, and it ain't Young or Ryan.

But Sanchez is considered a poor Qb?

A guess, but I think he has almost won as many playoff games a Phillip Rivers has in that time span.

Yup. And when you look at those teams the Dolphins are a big part of why they have losing records. 2 losses for the Bills and both KC and Oakland have winning records if not for us.

great breakdown miamiron. It's all of the above but mostly lack of superior talent. Even with a bad coach (which fist pump clearly is) a talented roster can and should beat other winning teams. Especially non-division opponents since familiarity wouldn't be a factor.
