    over there
    He's afraid to.:pity:
We all know what happened last time.
The way it is,if for a smart kid (everyone says he is) can't miraculously play another position in this league. He will be looking for another job outside the NFL in the next few seasons.
ST looks like a good place to start if his ego doesn't get the best of him.Or did that happen already?

I think that you made my point for me. He shouldn't have to "find his place". The coaching staff should have had a "place" for him long before they drafted him. In reality - none of this is Pat White's fault. They drafted this guy without a clue as to how they were going to use him in this system, and it shows. They "window shopped" and "impulse bought" a fancy offensive player and when the bill came due they choked on the result. I think he was drafted too high and went to the wrong team. Think of the WR and DB players that we passed on to get a talented kid that we obviously didn't need. This is really not Pat White's fault at all, and to be honest, I feel sorry for the kid.

I could only wish that Fiedler had the talent to go with that heart.

I only meant the 'expectations' of what White would do have come from the fans and media. The troika has never said, that I know of, he'd be anything but a proset QB. And it's not our 'fault', just misguided info on this kid abilities at this level. I just don't remember the troika ever saying anything about 'building an entire package' around him...I could be wrong, but they've been pretty steadfast, even going out of their way in regards to his role on the team, that of a QB.

Any way you look at it, it was a bad pick for us. A team with the needs we had in 2009 and now in 2010 certainly didn't dictate a project QB or even a specialist WC role at #44... They forgot about their mantra of drafting core position players. We did not and still do not have the luxury of driving outside the lines in the draft...

Yeah, I feel sorry for the kid too, but I mostly feel sorry for his not being able to contribute and it's affect on this team now. Is there a place for him ?? When he is on the roster in Sept, which I have no doubt he will be, even tho I think it's a mistake, who's spot will he take...will it be Sheets ?? Sperrry ?? Turner ?? Amaya ?? That's what worries me most. The biggest problem this team has had in 10 yrs is it's inability to develop their own players. Is White one of those ?? I just didn't see anything that reminded me of just another player that didn't translate to this level...

Unless they have been quietly working on another offensive scheme that we haven't seen yet and White is the focus player, it's time for the coaching staff to work White in - or work him out. Keeping him in moth balls isn't fair to him, or us.

Unless he explodes on the scene with something fantastic this year I'd say it would be safe to assume that he was drafted by the wrong team as they had no need or clear plan for him. Until then the jury is still out. Let continue this discussion in December.

Good call. He would have fit much better in that system than ours. I was even thinking that maybe he should have been traded to SF with Ginn.
