"The one nurse had a cold cloth on his head. The other nurse had the blood pressure on his arm. And my mother was like rubbing his back. And he is passed out on a couch. And I am there, in the middle of labor," Cynthia Rodriguez, wife of the New York Yankees star, said on an episode of the YES Network's "YESterdays" that is scheduled to be broadcast Wednesday night.

"And really, I am not being paid much attention to besides the doctor and a couple of nurses," she said. "And he is there moaning. In between pushing, I am going, 'Honey, are you OK?' and 'Are you breathing? Are you OK?' "

And the trend is set. EVERYTIME the pressure is on...even just a little bit, he wilts, shrivels and fades...

    Classic.

Yeah Derek Jeter performed very well when his daughter was born. Infact, Jeter has 4 kids an didnt faint once. A-Rod will continue to live in his shadow until he can perform in the clutch delivery room situations...

Wow do people really hate ARod this much? Sad petty jealousy.

I dont think anyone hates Arod, thats kind of like hating Ladainian Tomlinson IMO. Maybe the best player in his respective sport, just hasn't done anything in the playoffs. The story is funny though, guess it couldnt have happened to a nicer guy...

I don't hate ARod (I enjoy having him on my fantasy teams) though I do enjoy the occasional jab at his high salary and inability to come through in the playoffs. He's no druggie so he's not in Barry Bonds territory.

I don't know, to me the family stuff is off limits, sorry but theres just cheap shots then theres cheap shots. Dumping on him for this stuff just seems incredibly petty.

IMHO the stuff that should be off limits is a guys personal life. I dont care who Arod cheats on his wife with,if he wants to have sex with every broad in NY thats his gig, its not illegal.

I'll give you this is petty, but its not mean spirited. This is a pretty light-hearted story, Im sure A-Rod couldnt give 2 ****s about what anyone thinks of him after this story. I know I'd expect a good ribbing from my friends if this happened to me...

thats true. but having said that even though he is a dirty yankee I respect arod....... even if he does choke in the playoffs.............
and yes seeing as how he has a new kid I'm sure he gives a rat *** right now what people think....

By the way, I saw this story as one of the "Top Headlines" on ESPN.com's homepage earlier today. ESPN has reached a new low.

I blame his wife for telling people, if people are upset, she is the one that should be getting killed about it, not the ones reporting it.
