Given the fact that we are looking much deeper at Wide Receiver than I had thought we would be prior to the draft who do you think could be a surprise cut or trade?

What happens if London, Hartline or Turner compete and beat out Camarillo or Bess? If Turner can get into the Larry Fitzgerald mold of a big tough WR that catches everything that comes at him? It will make someone expendable.

Could we trade Ginn, Camarillo or Bess?

I am by no means anointing anybody and there is still a lot of pre-season games to be played.

I just don't necessarily feel at this point the guys who are slated as the top 3 at the moment may be the same from Week 1 to the trade deadline.

    Ginn
    Camarillo
    Bess
    Turner
    Hartline
    London

Who are your six? Who do you think may ultimately end up off the team?

I think the top six are the ones you listed above - but what I think means next to nothing.
While Camarillo seemed to be developing into Pennington's go-to guy, there's no way of knowing whether or not he's the same as he was before his injury. At least not yet.
About all I can say at this time is that nothing would surprise me.
    Ginn could be traded.
We may keep six WRs or maybe just five.
Maybe Hartline goes to the PS.
It's possible that Turner and London end up as the starting WRs because Sparano seems to value size so much.
But still it seems to me we need a guy like Ginn because of his speed.
Bess and Camarillo are great route runners. And I would think we need that as well.

I agree with everyone except London.

I think that Armstrong will give him a run for his money and might even beat him out during the pre-season games.

London must really show something during the pre-season. Unlike last season, he's had a full offseason with this team and needs to show his skills.

So, I'd say Armstrong beats him out unless London blows people away during the pre-season.

Then again, I thought Armstrong won a job last season (and almost did) so we'll see.

Its ironic that I was thinking the same thing last night. I really could envision trading Ted Ginn this season, not because we don't value him, but because other teams could value him more then we do.

I know I am going to get blasted for saying that, but whatever I could see it happening. Some teams that could be interested are the Atlanta Falcons and or the 49ers just off the top of my head. I love what Ted brings to the game, even the stuff you can't see such as stretching the field... I just think that our front office thinks that WRs aren't that valueable and the fact that out recieving core is looking so good right now could push Ted's value even lower in our front offices eyes.

I think you might be opn to something. Camarillo would be the one traded.

If I were keeping 6 (right now, no preseason to go by) I would take:

    Ginn
    Bess
    Camarillo
    Turner
    Hartline
    Armstrong

London would be a close cut, but I doubt we could trade him. Beyond Bess and Ginn I doubt we could trade anyone, and I would bet only Ginn would net anything close to a 2nd day pick.

I don't see us trading any WRs this year out of Ginn, Cam, and Bess.

Ginn is still the most unreplacable receiver on this team because we don't have another like him. Camarillo and Bess are posession receivers. Turner and London are the big guys. Ginn is unique and we need him to complete our offense.

I don't think that we could ever get fair value for Ginn.

like most others, i believe Turner and Hartline directly control the destinies of London and Armstrong .... Hartline could further impact Camarillo -- since all 3 (including Bess are somewhat similar).

as positive the reports of Turner are ... i don't think his performance would be enough to put him with Bess / Cam in the starting line up and displace Ginn this year ... we still need a 'speed' guy .... and Armstrong won't replace Ginn -- that would have been Marion's opportunity next year ... but not sure of that now.

will have to wait a couple weeks though, as injuries tend to change things ....

    Ginn - speed
    Bess - slot
    Armstrong - speed/slot
    Turner, Hartline, Camarillo - possession

I picked Cam over London because this is one very inexperienced group and Cam provides a bit more game time experience and the guy is just a hustler who gets things done.

But I'm not sure we even keep 6WRs. It's possible we only go in with 5WRs.

Pat White has to be activated so that leaves one less spot on the rest of the roster since we will activating all 3 QBs every game. Unfortunately I think the WR position will be the one that will have one less guy. The guys who stick will be the ones who also play special teams. Lucky enough all our WRs do a good job on special teams.

This how I see it right now. I would really love to see Armstrong make the team but they don't seem to be putting him on special teams yet. They don't have him at returner and I don't think he has even been tried as a gunner yet and that's the problem for him. He needs to be head and shoulders above the other guys but so far, while having a good camp, the other receivers seem to just be having a better one and they play special teams. I think Armstrong goes to the practice squad again.

Looks like it will come down to between Armstrong and London then. Pretty good problem to have.

I'm right there with you. Nobody else has the speed Ginn does but I think he could become trade bait for the right team.

Ginn & Bess with KO returns would be what cements their positions. If Ginn can't improve his KO & Punt returns it makes him one dimensional.

We will trade Camarillo IMO before we trade anyone else. I still think that our wide receivers will look like so: Ginn, Camarillo, Bess, Hartline, Turner, and London... with Armstrong on the practice squad.

As someone said, the Falcons would make a nice trade partner for us to unload someone like Armstrong.......however we play them this year and I would hate to give them an extra target for Ryan as well someone that could provide some insight to our offensive schemes

To me Ginn, Bess, and Turner are locks. Camarillo, London, and Hartline play ST, Armstrong is just a burner and we have that in Teddy already. My guess is that London is the trade bait here. Why, everyone loves Camarillo (hes Pennys guy also) and Tony and Henne love Hartline.

London and the bust from Jax will be the two that get moved IMHO while Armstrong get one more year of PS.:wink2:

You're probably right Bess is prime to be a better version of what Camarillo is offering us.

I'm with you, again like Bess he spells the most trouble to Camarillo

I seriously doubt we would make a trade with Atlanta before week 1. I really want Camarillo to stick around. Its hard not to love the guy. I just bought his jersey.
