There is absolutely nothing to lose tossing J Allen into the FS competition mix and I've always thought the "poor poor Jason Allen, Cb or S, S or Cb" was nonsense simply because a he should be able to play both positions. At worst Jason Allen stays the same Cb/ST guy, or wins the FS position, or a younger, cheaper, version of J Allen, Nolan Carrol ends his time in Miami. Heck, JA could probably play SS, his tackling and hitting was never an issue, it was the old cranial placement in his rectum when it came to complex coverages that he always struggled with in the past.
So what Padre you think we should stupefy our schemes to make it easier for him? If he cant learn it he cant play. Its that simple bud.
Nope, Allen sinks or swims on his own merit, every competitor has to learn the coverages he would be no different. I do happen to think Coaches tend to be too cautious as for all of his flaws Jason Allen has rarely failed consistently...when he has been out on the field...
So this is what you pm'ed me about? I'm sorry if you took it the wrong way. I have nothing against you personally. I do agree though with the poster that I find your posts hard to read.
Friend Trowa: the thread is on Jason Allen & in general the free safety position this is not the lounge, nor is it a PM sent for discretion's sake this is the dolphin forum, respect it as such & stay w/ the thread we have an ignore button, I suggest you use it if you're unhappy GoFish! the end. about the thread: Jason is on a career upswing & should be considered along w/ Will Allen as an experienced free safety alternative I've brought the both of them up in other posts a couple of times before this thread. it only makes sense to me.
His name is Nolan Carroll with 2 Ls at the end of Carroll. Are you trying to set a record for most times misspelling one player name? Is it too much to expect that loyal diehard Phins fans be able to correctly spell the name of every player on the team?
Always been a supporter of Jason. His development was definitely impeded by being switched around so much. But he has the skills to be a good FS or CB. He's versatile. I think he deserves a shot just like everyone else.
It's not just the changing from position to position, but it's learning or relearning the nuances of each position. Additionally, he's had different DCs who each have different specifics of how they want whichever position he's at played. Is he the sharpest tool in the shed, probably not, but that's no reason to bash him, if in fact he is that guy that's not the sharpest and they keep moving him around. The bottom line, as you said, he's never really embarrassed himself on the field, pretty much held his own. I think there is a lot to his being moved around so much that has hindered his development.... That said, this year is probably his last shot at securing a position with this team, his fault, the staff's fault, nobody's fault...
Yes..it is. Not only that but its kind of rude to attack a poster for his spelling. We cant all be as cute as Stitches you know. lol...I'm just playin...spell his name right!!
I believe I was rather polite with the request or suggestion of spelling the player names the same way they do.
