Just a heads up,there is a poll on NFL.com asking this question and the Jets are winning by a long shot. I thought this was an interesting question and now with the acquisition of Marshall I think we match up well and the division will be a tough fight this year.Who do you all think is really going to be the team to beat in our division?

It's New England until someone beats them. Just like it was the Phins last year...

We find a SOLB who can start and Culver plays solid at FS, it's Miami.

Bring this man back into the fold if you want some real leadership on this team.

Mark Sanchez
Chad Henne
Trent Edwards/Ryan Fitzpatrick/Brian Brohm
Tom Brady

One of these things is not like the others, one of these things does not belong.....

It's still a quarterbacks league, and until proven otherwise, one team in the division has a QB that is head and shoulders above all the others.

It's no guarantee that they win the division....but a favorite?? easy.

Depends heavily on Mark Sanchez.

Bring this man back into the fold if you want some real leadership on this team.

I would say the Jets, but Sanchez can beat himself at times.

Headcoach material wouldn’t want to work somewhere they’re not trusted with actual football decisions.

New England. They won the division last year but laid an egg in the playoffs. As long as Brady and Belechick are there they will always be tough. There is never a game the pats go inot where I feel they will definetly loe. They always have a chance.

The Jets???? LOL....maybe when Sanchez is a better QB then Brady.

i think we are the team to beat now. as long as no major issues arise, like injuries or suspensions to KEY players.

we made some major upgrades with Nolan, Dansby and now Marshall. we all know that LB and WR were two of our biggest needs. they are taken care of now with top notch players in their prime. everyone knows our defense fell apart in the 2nd half of too many games. that should be taken care of now.

but everyone has their own opinion. one of the analyst on ESPN said snchez was the 2nd best AFC E. QB. really? the same sanchez that was reduced to like 10 throws a game because of all of his interceptions?

First, any of those national polls are going to be biased to the bigger name teams like the jests....Second, while we closed the gap between NE, jests and us, I don't think we surpassed anyone. As long as BB is the coach of the pasties, they are in the mix. The jests have made a bunch of big-name moves, but not all are big-quality moves...in my biased opinion, Dansby and Marshall by themselves trump all the moves made by the jests...

EDIT: Sorry, fat fingers....

That all said, the jests and pats still have more overall talent than we do.

That may very well be true, but we really haven't gotten enough talent for him yet. Dansby alone can't man the ILB and OLB positions. Remember, as of right now, our starting OLBers are Wake (WOLB) and either Anderson/QMoses as the SOLB ??? That doesn't conjure up Pro Bowl votes for me...

we go as far as Henne goes. I personally think he's a better QB than Sanchez in every way. So i put us ahead of them.

Can he take a step higher to be in Brady's league, however, is the real question. It's going to be a good season.

Sadly I must concede that we AT THE MOMENT still look like the 3rd best team in the division. The Jets and Pats are still on paper better imo. Our defense still looks shaky I think.

But we sure are alot better than we were yesterday.

Pats.

I have a great deal of difficulty saying the Jets are the team to beat when we swept them last year, and we've had a better offseason than they have.

Lets talk about this after the Draft.

We'll help out our cause if we don't start out 0-3 like we have a habit of doing.

I'll go out on a limb and say we are right now, I see Jets faltering much the same as we did last year. First year with a new coach seems to always inspire the players to play above their level but then the following year as players become accustomed to the coach and the newness is gone they regress back to what they were. We are a year ahead of them in the process and getting rid of the players that faltered. Add to it that if we had Dansby and Marshall last year we easily make the playoffs instead of the Jets it's just a no brainer.

The Jets still have Sanchez as their QB they seem to be high on him because they made it through some playoff games but he barely threw any passes at all in the playoffs they relied heavily on their run game and now they got rid of their workhorse Thomas Jones and replaced him with a diva LT and rookie Sean Greene. They won't be able to rely as heavily on the run game this year and Sanchez will be exposed once again for the interception machine he is.

Pats are rebuilding they will be competitive as always but they can only do so much with the decline of the talent level on that team. And the Bills...LOL Nothing really needs to be said.

All the media will be touting the Jets as the best team in the AFCE come opening day but they will be talking about the Phins once the season starts  It's totally predictable same stuff that happens every year.

As of right now, I have to give it to the Pats. They are still the division champs.

I think the Jets are above us, but just. I think we may have a better offense, on paper, than the Jets, but their defense beats ours hands down, again, on paper.

If we plug some holes on defense, we could be the team to beat. Right now, however, it's still the Pats.

Get dirty, get bloody, get sweaty...

...get happy.

lets not get ahead of ourselves here
adding marshall was a huge splash but doesnt instantly put us at the top
im sticking to what ive said since ive been here
we still have to continue to build this defense
OLB' are such a big need
we still have the #12 to draft a stud on defense
