i think without question that Davis is the more talented .... that kid just oozes talent.

Smith started out strong, but has very much leveled off since the 1st few games of the season where he was able to make some plays because of his height.

Davis looks like he could be better than either Surtain or Madison. He throws his body around, so staying healthy might be his biggest challenge. Neither Surtain or Madison ever threw their body around like he does.

No matter, i think we will have a strong CB back tandem come next year for sure ...

now, if we could keep getting Clemons on the field, our backfield will go from a weakness at the beginning of this year to a strength for next year.

I'm playing a bit of devils advocate here so please don't go balistic

QB rating versus Smith is a 121.2
QB rating versus Davis is 94.6:shifty:

    Smith-482 defensive snaps...thrown at 37 times for 23 receptions

    Davis-324 defensive snaps...thrown at 35 times for 23 receptions

    Smith-438 yards allowed...top 10% worst in the NFL:cry:

Davis-502 yards allowed..only 4 players out of 100 had more passing yards allowed...#95 out of 100 nfl corners with 150+ defensive snaps less:cry:

    Davis-has allowed 21.8 yards per reception:pity:
this number is 99 out of 99 with players with 200 defensive snaps...DEAD LAST:no:

Smith-has allowed 19 yards per reception which is tied for NEXT TO LAST(DAVIS) OR 98 OUT OF 99 with players with
    200 defensive snaps...NEXT TO DEAD LAST:pity:

COMPARE THEM TO Revis and Asomugha

Revis-584 defensive snaps with 23 completions

Asomugha- 486 defensive snaps with 11 completions

Smith-482 defensive snaps with 23 completions

Davis-324 defensive snaps with 23 completions

all very equal except for Asomugha because teams refuse
    to throw anywhere near him

    Yards allowed

    Smith-482 snaps..438 yrds allowed...19 yards per rec

    Davis-324 snaps...502 yards allowed...21.8 yrds per rec

    Revis-584 snaps...238 yards allowed...10.3 yrds per rec

    Asomugha-486 snaps...97 yards allowed...8.8 yrds per rec

I didn't compare our two corners against two top corners in the nfl to show how bad our are but to show how far they have to go to be considered elite

They are our future but to label them top 5 or top 10 potential is a bit to soon as both have given up huge plays to the point where they are either the bottom or near the bottom in yards allowed and yards per reception out of 100+ cornerbacks.

This team is #27 in the league in allowing total passing yards so forgive me if I'm not jumping up and down trying to figure out who is having the better season when both have a long-long way to go:yes:
