16-0,... it's easy to suck when you're on your 3rd QB, 4th/5th RB, #1 WR is gone, TEs aren't true TEs, D-line is banged up, Best defensive player has missed half the season, on your 100th safety... you getting my point?

That's been discussed here in Las Vegas. 0-16 is theoretically more difficult. A team on a roll like the Patriots will be huge favorites every week. That equates to the money line, or odds to win straight up.

The winless team, on the other hand, will be given the benefit of a doubt in many games since they are facing mediocre opponents who don't appear to be much better. Heck, today the Dolphins were favored and in some spots it reached -3 at gametime.

At the end of the season, if you take a game by game money line mathematical examination of Miami's games and New England's games, it's not even close. Miami going winless will be significantly "more difficult" than NE going unbeaten.

0-16. It's not even debateable. 0-16 is much harder than 16-0, no doubt.

you guys have to be kidding me. Which is more difficult? Being great at something or completly sucking at something?

you have to be GREAT (and lucky) to go 16-0. Last I checked being great was at anything wasn't easy to achieve....certainly more difficult than sucking at it.

Which is more likely to happen? you could debate that question....but which is more difficult? why is that even a discussion?

Any 11 members of this board could go 0-16 in the NFL. ALL of the members of this board would never go 16-0.(And in fact would go 0-16). Being bad is easy.

Only one team has gone undefeated (and that was in a 14 game season) and only one team has gone winless (and THAT was in a 14 game season) so in essence it is equally as difficult to go winless as it is to go undefeated.

What's funny about the scenario THIS year is that the Pats may go undefeated, and we may go winless. Both teams do it on the same year, and from the same division, AND be the first to do it in the modern day 16 game regular season.

It iwould be far easier to go winless, all you have to do is play your backups and scrubs or have your team deliberately try to lose. To win you have to give your best everytime you get on the field. To lose you can just give up and / or deliberately play bad to lose. So theoretically it is easier to lose or go 0-16, however I think even in this day and age, pride comes into the factor so even a bad team will go out to win every game, thus in reality it is probably as hard to go 0-16 as it is to go 16-0.

Now see how easy simple maths is?
