I would have to say Scott Travis from the Priest, and Morgan Rose from Sevendust. Who are your favorites?
Off the top of my head: Gene Hoglan, Mike Portnoy, Dave Lombardo, Chris Adler, Thomas Haake, Flo Mounier, Richard Christy, Neil Peart, Trym Torson, Witold "Vitek" Kieltyka (R.I.P)... Gene Hoglan (couldn't find any live stuff, so here is a video with Gene on Drums) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LeG-6bpeUkA Mike Portnoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQkF8LUoyVE&feature=related Dave Lombardo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvr2nuvtCpQ Chris Adler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHl4I5E78Wg&feature=related Thomas Haake http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOR0hUIGb4Y&feature=related Flo Mounier http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGLVjp65v_E&feature=related Richard Christy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR3RuZGy3Zc&feature=related Neil Peart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NuOTkrEVeb4 Trym Torson (Bad quality due to being live, only one I could find of him however) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyYKGGoKtDQ Witold "Vitek" Kieltyka (couldn't find any live stuff with good sound, so listen to the drums in this video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kIB9mSbD67k
Mike Portnoy, Nicko McBrain, Scott Travis Nicko amazes me-he plays barefoot, and uses only a single bass drum and a single pedal. Amazing. I get to witness his playing again on Wednesday!
Amazing drummer. I also enjoy Neil Peart (Rush), The Rev (Avenged Sevenfold), the drummer from Killswitch Engage.. I can't think of his name right now and I'm too lazy to look it up.
I get to witness it in a few hours. My favorites lately: Casey Grillo of Kamelot: And this guy is just ****ing AMAZING...Bobby Jarzombek of Halford and Spastic Ink:
LMAO!!! I can give you setlist...backstage isn't happening this year though. As for audio and video...I have an entire DVD of this tour already. Still trying to see if I can copy it to send to you guys...
DANG!!!!!! How could no one have mentioned the modern-day John Bonham??? Mr. Vinnie Paul!!! Drums are his b*tch...
Abigail Williams' new drummer Samus is quite impressive...It's black metal so expect alot of blast beats and double bass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GISvqNhaRAs
