If it comes down to our last game against the Jets, the NFL would be fools not to flex the game to Sunday night, IMO. From what I heard, they have to announce if they're flexing a game 12 days in advance.
With the way the AFC East has been this year they'd be fools not to flex it. Besides, it seems like ESPN, NBC, Fox, and CBS all have their man crushes on Favre and can never get enough of him. Gut feeling is that will be the game with the most meaning come Week 17. How long has it been since we had meaningful games at the end of the season, let alone against the rival Jets? Gotta love this new organization, I've already got my Christmas gift this year.
There is no Sunday night game in week 17. If the game were to be "flexed", it would be moved to 4:15 so it could be a national broadcast. NFL Schedule: Regular Season
my guess would be jets dolphins sunday night and the eagles and cowboys game moved to 4pm if not already.
Well, Francesa was talking about it yesterday, and he is a New York homer and said he felt it would be no doubt the Cowboys and Eagles (if it meant something). I personally would rather play at 1:00PM, for me so I'm not in a stupor by 8:00, and it will be warmer for the fins at 1:00 than at night. I have been in the Meadowlands for a December night game, whatever the temp is outside, its about 20 degrees colder in the stadium with that swirling wind. Getting flexed would only help the Jets
Normally, I would jump at the chance for the Phins to be playing the Sunday night (NBC) game, as it is the "most" prime-time game in the NFL schedule. BUT... Look at the possible ramifications. For the Phins to make the playoffs, they likely need to win the AFC East. To win the AFC East, they need to beat the Jets. I'm not sure playing at night (in what must be colder weather) would be beneficial. Additionally, assuming the Phins win the game and make the playoffs, they face the very real possibility of having to play on Saturday (50% chance). So I would rather they get home from the NY trip at a reasonable hour so as to minimize practice disruption. All of this is probably splitting hairs, and may have little effect on the Phins playoff chances, but every little bit helps, right?
OK so I don't have Sunday ticket and have only watched 1 Miami Game this year. So, I'll be selfish and say "I would love the Jets game to be primetime". Having said that, I would much rather wait a week for the Nationally Televised game to be a playoff game!!!
Its in NY, and could very well BE a pre first round playoff game. They will flex it if it will determine the AFC east.
True that. CBS and FOX cannot protect any games in week 17 to ensure NBC gets a game that ensures playoff implications.
415 sounds perfect to me, just like it was back in the day when the giants were ruling the land in the 80's, {Those good pat summerall games} i wouldnt have it either way, i wanna see my team on that stage with those elements, i waana see how they respond.
These TV guys are insane...The Giants already have clinched their division and probably homefield throughout by then and the panthers will be in either as division champ or wildcard team...FOOLS...
Not at all, bro. If Carolina wins and/or NYG loses this week, then week 16's show down WILL BE for homefield throughout the playoffs. Panthers win out and they've got homefield. Simply put. That's "game of the year" material right there.
My guide is showing Denver at Chargers for 4pm next week. Im saying this because all the other time slots say TBA. Does this mean CBS has that game for sure at 4pm? It doesn't even show the steelers scheduled at 1 and that would be my regional game.
It will be talked about by every outlet.....I cant wait for all the "angles" to be covered by the media this coming week...this is going to be so much fun.
