Corrected himself now: Omar Kelly @OmarKelly 59 seg Correction: The Dolphins claim Brandian Ross, who is a safety the Raiders cut yesterday. He replaces Don Jones, who is a PS option.
i think there is no one left to do it for now, mike wallace joked about early in camp, but i doubt they put him there
Yeh..I dont get dropping Damian Williams..he was the only other guy on the roster that could run the same routes as Wallace
i think Damien Williams or Darkwa are KR, whoever is active and Landry is the PR for now, i doubt they dress 4 RB´s on gamedays
is he already a veteran which salary becomes guaranteed if he is on the roster on week 1 ? mabe we resign him after the 1st game ? just a wild guess because i have no clue why they cut him
Andrew Abramson @AbramsonPBP 35 seg Brandian Ross was a starter for Oakland last year. He had 54 tackles and was graded by PFF as the NFL's 85th safety of 86. Yikes
I guess they liked him better than Don Jones. Jones never really made an impact other than special teams.
he´s had 13 Tackles, 1 Sack and 1 PD in preseason, would be interesting to find out about his PFF preseason numbers, if he sticks he is a 4 week rental until reshad jones comes back
But..at least he was a very solid special teams player..Ross doesnt seem to be that and he sucked as a safety
I feel so darn bad for Williams and Jones; that has to be the worst feeling in football. You work hard for 6 weeks, finally make the roster, and then get cut 24 hours later for some guy that the team hasn't even had on the practice field yet. I feel for these guys.
It's also possible they thought Ross was being misused or playing out of position with Oakland...but still I have always been in the camp you hold on solid ST players when you can.
I don't like the Williams cut, but I do understand the roster churning. I am relatively sure there will be continued roster churning early in the year if not throughout it. I like the signing of Maxwell to the PS. I am pulling for Miami to convince Seastrunk to join its practice squad.
i doubt there is any interest in him, he will probably land on the Redskins PS or will have to find a job soon
I agree but at least he is a safety. With Jones out, the only true safety on the roster is Delmas. All the others are slot/utility/ST guys. Thomas, Wilson, and Aikens are converted CB's or slot cover guys. I hope Ross, never has to see the field, but I would guess he is better than Kovacs was and he is a real safety.
Key question is how functional that speed is used when in pads. But 6-1 corners with that speed don't come along very often.
Remember how far Miami was down on the pecking order. Cleveland and Houston were in the best position. Heck, even Dallas was in better position than us.
@RavensInsider: Dolphins sign Sam Brenner to practice squad, according to a source Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Hehe Josh Katzowitz @joshkatzowitz · 13m Lions sign TE Michael Egnew and former UC RB George Winn to the taxi squad.
Josh Katzenstein @jkatzenstein #Lions send updated press release. TE Michael Egnew is NOT on the practice squad. TE Jordan Thompson is.
Good thing is that if Seastrunk is on someone's PS we can keep Wiiliams and sign Lache later if he's available. Problem being you risk another team grabbing him.
Save yourself the pain and give up the Lache dream of him being here. I don't believe he'll ever be here. I reserve the right to be wrong.
