The Dolphins wouldn't save a dime of cash flow if they cut Wheeler. In order to justify cutting him you'd have to believe there was a waiver pickup out there more valuable than him.

Not sure throwing McCain to the wolves would be best for his development...Trusnick has the experience..make McCain a part of the solution...but not THE solution

Wheeler isn't as bad as most people would like to believe he is.

In the game we lost, Wheeler was ok in pass coverage. Allowed 1 completion in 2 attempts for 5 yards. But in the game we won, he allowed 5 completions in 6 attempts for 70 yards and 1 TD. Irony?

I mean he was only ranked dead last among all OLB's last year.

Square peg in a round hole. When you use a player against his strength he struggled. But let's disregard his career because he played poorly last season. Forget that he is solid in man coverage and as a blitzer. Those things dont matter, all that matters are the things he doesn't do well which are the things we asked him to do.

You're a troll, get off the site already SMH.

Fast as Hell and often in position to make plays, but he plays too damn uncontrolled and makes too many mistakes that are penalized. His hit on the QB in the Bucs game last season extended their game winning drive.

I would love to see McCain start if he is healthy. I just think the coaches will go with Trusnik as the starter because for some reason they think he is the best backup LB on the roster. Personally I've never thought much of Trusnik as an NFL LB.

I like Trusnik, he makes play, he's sound fundamentally and has good length and strength. For example, I think Trusnik is better than AJ Hawk, even tho Hawk is thicker and delivers more pop, the difference is not that great and overall Trusnik is better.
    Wheeler has no fundamentals.

I respect you opinion on Trusnik. I just haven't been overly impressed with him personally and I would love to see McCain instead.

As far as Wheeler goes. If not for the huge cap hit the Dolphins would take by cutting him. I seriously wonder if he would even be on the roster at this time.

I like McCain too. Obviously scheme wise and talent wise he is the replacement for Wheeler.

The main thing that pissed me off last year were some huge penalties he gave up, at least once that cost us the game. Otherwise, i'm not really qualified to evaluate linebacker talent lol. Edit: NOT really qualified. That typo (forgor 'not) made it sound like a sarcastic dick before!

Same...but if PFF rates him last, that at least tells me he's not good. I know PFF isn't perfect...but for his contract, he shouldn't even be in that area.
