I love sci-fi, I was excited to see battlefield earth, and then i saw it, and it was terrible. The acting was heinous, the dialogue was horrible, just nothing positive from it. Im amazed you came away with a positive experience from it.
Maybe some of it was the heroism of our descendants, the beating the odds, outwitting the arrogant and overconfident alien overlords, the depiction of the alien culture.
I'm with tex. I really like scifi too. I'll even watch the crappy stuff on SciFi. But, BE was supposed to be a big time movie. If it was some low budget B flick, then ok. Every minute of it pained me until I finally stopped watching.
Believe it or not I am with you on this one... I loved that movie (though I tend to love anything with dragons) I just had so much fun. And I love catching it every time it is on cable... it is an absolutely great movie to rewatch on a sunday with pop corn
be glad you haven't. And they actually made a sequal to it which was worse. I'm not even kidding, rent The New World, ten minutes into the movie, you're bored to tears. It's a fairly short movie (just over 90 minutes) but it feels like 5 hours. Basically the movie is Colin Ferrell talking to himself, and Poccahauntus talking to her dead mom (throw in a couple pictures of random people walking around, laying in the grass, and the random tree and that's the movie). any of the American Pie straight to dvd movies are all mind numbling horrible as well
I hated Napolean Dynamite the first time I saw it, I was sitting there thinking why am I watching this piece of crap movie. But after watching it a few more times I started to get some laughs out of it mainly the scenes with Uncle Rico and now I think it is an average movie.
Funny movie all around, the one part that I wish was left out was the part with Baxter talking to the bear.
The one with Dana Carvey that he dresses up as a turtle and says "Turtle, Turtle." I think it was "Master of Disguise" or something like that. That's 90 minutes I'll never get back.
Some other movies that come to mind. Major League 3 was unbearable. I forgot the name but a movie with Matt LeBlanc and a monkey who plays baseball it maybe Ed. Undercover Brother, i'd want to say anything recently made by Stallone or the Governator but the cheese factor makes them comedies. The same goes with anything by Samuel L. Jackson.
I know I am going to get flack for these two... but I have seen them 3 times now, in an honest attempt to see what is to be appreciated in them, and I just can't I always walk away thinking that they are the worst piece of crap ever... Sin City and the 300
So you thought these movies were pieces of crap yet you went back and rewatched them 2 additional times? I can't relate to that..... If I hate a movie you can bet I'll never watch it again. Maybe you're a closet fan that just hasn't come to terms that you like them? For the record I wasn't as impressed with Sin City as others either and never saw the 300.
Nope, is just i hang with a lot of film major people... and people that work in the industry. A lot of them really liked it, and kept on telling me that I had missed the point (man even here, so many people, ChrisKo and Dolphan Dupree as examples...) so i watched it again. And I was like no, i did not miss the point.... And the third one for each was because i attended a party with some friends and they where showing it in one of the rooms... i am quite the antisocial dude, so i much rather watch the movie (even if i hate it) than try to meet new people.
I never said you had to like it to hit the point. There are two movies that a friend of mine reminded me of that I tried to forget. Johnny Pnemonic or however you spell that horrible movie. However IMO the worst movie I have seen in the last five years and during this time I did watch Future Kick and Santa Slay and Jack Frost 2 was Elektra. GOD did I HATE this movie. Elektra made me want to go back in time to kill my parents so I will never be born.
Super Bad, was. Written like it came straight out of a aol chatroom. There was nothing smart, witty, or funny about a bunch of crude jokes whose only purpose seemed to be to pack as many vulgarities per sentence as they could squeeze in and still make the sentence coherant. And sometimes they didn't try that hard. McLovin was funny but, he was a direct rip-off character of that skinny guy from Road Trip....after he got laid.
The skinny geek turned super lover or the skinny geek as super lover, same thing. Even the brother character in ND is about the same. Both came out before SuperBad so, yeah, while taking it a little further maybe, it's easy to see that the main gist of the character had been done before. Don't get me wrong though, it's a good character and it was the only funny thing in that turd of a movie. Spurs, if you can watch that movie without being embarrassed by the endless stream of non-essential vulgarities, then maybe you're right, I am an old timer. I'm with you on ND, great movie. It's a beautiful love story.
Those are ***** two ***** words that ***** should **** never ***** go ********* together. Every ***** vulgarity is ******** essential. Still I never understood people who didn't like movies because of cussing. I guess to each their own.
I wonder how many people are posting their worst movie ever seen or posting a movie they didn't like that would get a rise out of people. I think that if the worst movie you ever seen was 300, Super Bad, Napoleon Dynamite, Anything with certain actor, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, etc... You really have been lucky because there are MUCH worse movies out there. Plus honestly I don't see how Lord of the Rings could be the worst. Boring, yes. Not your cup of tea, ok. However worst? Did you watch any movies in the 80s or Joe Versus the Volcano? I know I am not the only person who has seen Robot Jox or Virtuosity. I guess there are some people out there that just doesn't take any chances with movies or have A LOT of luck.
Mallrats was awesome... Hopefully you mean anything starring Ben Affleck... That I can mostly agree with...
What about Reindeer games? Just kidding. I thought Smoking Aces was a fun movie. That had Ben Afleck in it. Bonus, Afleck was shot.
You know, I've been thinking bout a lot of very bad movies, but I still think its brick... brick is by far the most awful experience i have had while movie watching... Well.. that and The Master of Disguise, but in all fairness Master was spoiled even more because i watched it in spanish.
The ring was awful. Punch Drunk Love was friggin bad. Driving Ms Daisy could put anyone to sleep but at least that may be useful to some. Signs was a waste of film that would have been better served for strangling the people who put it together. But NOTHING was worse then the Blair Witch Project or Napolean Dynamite. Only two movies that made me say "wow, there was nothing funny or entertaining about that." Not only would I not recommend those movies, Id actually recommend watching replays of all this years Dolphin games rather then put yourself through that misery....I mean at least yelling at the TV set is somewhat fun.
