I don't buy that, because football is king in South Florida. Now, I'm not from that area and don't live in that area. However, I know that from a football standpoint, that area of the country eats, breaths, and sleeps football. Up until recently, the Miami Dolphins organization was always the king in that area. Lately, the organization has been nothing but an embarrassment to the area. If you bring credibility back to this organization and give the local fans something to cheer for, they will come back in droves.

HERE is what I would do .

#1 restructure the front office from top to bottom.

#2 Hire Dan Marino as vice president and give him the power to do what he originally want to do in the first place.

Please note that Dan knew he was in a lose lose situation so we don't know if he would do a good job or not but I think he would do a good job provided
the circus closes down and he has a bigger say in what goes on.

#3 I would go hire Jon Gruden because he seems to be very good at developing qb's

#4 I would scrap the new logo and try again but in the meantime I would use the original logo .

#5 get rid of the troublemakers .

#6 hire BPK as my personal adviser . CrunchTime as the new stadium guru and a couple of you other guys to make sure the dolphins get a new image with the public.

As the owner, his responsibility to the fans is the bottom line, to which there is a consequence of who he puts in charge to make the operation run... While I don't subscribe to the staff being the real issue here, I do think he has to expunge the current regime at the end of the season. Now that begs a different issue...IF this team goes on a tear, even if it's the "us against the world" reason, and the finish 11-5 even 10-6, find their way into the playoffs and at the very least, play like they belong there when they get in the dance, then he has to think differently. But at this point, with the expectations of what will happen the rest of the season, I don't see that scenario really happening.

Who does he answer to, well mainly the season ticket holders, since they likely generate the bulk of his revenue. But he has an equal responsibility to the NFL and that's why the most likely scenario is that he dumps this regime and starts anew... I don't want to see that, particularly as an avid fan, but that's the most likely scenario to play out for this franchise.

The bad thing is that this could have happened in ANY locker room and any TEAM in the NFL, but it happened here...

I disagree that he [or anyone] could have handled this by payoffs. First, there is the CBA involvement as to what he can pay and to who and for why. Second, the media got a hold of this and it blew up a lot faster than anyone could have imagined. My guess is that the first week that Martin went AWOL, he/agent/mommie and daddy was/were hounding the ears of guys like Mort, Schefter, Salguero and King and whoever else they could contact. This was a spite issue for Martin. Once the Fins called his bluff and threatened to put him on the NFI list, where he wouldn't collect his checks and knowing that he is likely no longer welcomed back in the locker room (or any other locker room) for breaking his team mates trust, it turned into "Who can I screw now" issue with Martin.... I'd even go so far as to say that the story in the media is how Philbin/Ireland/Ross found out about this, not from Martin or RI himself...

I do agree that I would have liked to hear from Ross himself that he was bringing in the independent counsel to review the situation, rather than from press releases and from Philbin. If I were Ross, that's what I would have done.... Firing everyone would not solve the situation by any stretch of the imagination. It would only appease some of the public opinion and not necessarily resolve the issue and keep it from coming back. You would like to see this type of 'dirty laundry' stuff be handled behind closed doors, but Martin prevented that from happening... the saddest part is that things like this likely happen in EVERY locker room, not just ours... Just like Belicheat and Spygate and just like Payton/Williams and the Saints...

Ross is the owner of the team. He is responsible for hiring everyone in the front office, as well as the head coach. Therefore he is 100% responsible for this organization and he people he hired to run it.

It is time he becomes a more responsible owner and hires individuals who can turn this organization into the first class organization it was when Joe Robbie was the owner. If he doesn't want to spend the money and make the tough personnel decisions to get rid of those who have failed him since he became the majority owner over four years ago. Perhaps he should just sell the team to someone who wants to see this organization return to its glory years.

But can Crunchtime and I get along as well as Ireland and Philbin have? I just don't know if I can work with CT. I hear he's a heartless diva. Weird combination.
