Now that he's been released, do I hold onto him hoping he finds a starting role somewhere or just simply cut my loses and dump him for a WW pickup?

I'd dump him..I did. I think all teams are set with their RB's for season start. Even if Rudi signs somewhere, I wouldn't think he'd jump right in and be the no.1. He would have to eventually work his way up...JMHO.

Cut him. He's in the same pile as Shaun Alexander and Cedric Benson.

Hard to believe, just a couple of yrs. ago he was a fantasy beast. He's only 29 and appears his career has already peaked.

I'm not sure why he wasn't just placed on IR. Maybe he's not as talented as we suspect.

Either way, he's now useless. Even if he signs with a team, he's still banged up, and it's doubtful some GM says "Hey! We have Rudi Johnson! Let's not draft a stud running back!" It looks downhill from here.

At least I got Chris Perry in the two leagues I drafted Rudi.

    I wonder Perry's value now

I'd say higher than Ricky's, but less than Laurence Maroney's. #3 guy, maybe a spot starter at the #2 slot once or twice.

At the VERY least, he's worth more than everyone in Houston.

    Indeed

At least I got to know that before the season starts so I can dump him and grab something through WW. I hate when I have to wait 2 or 3 games to make a cut decision....by then you may have lost some good WW opportunities.

I have Perry and Rudi in my 18 team league. I kept both. perry holds obvious value but Johnson could get a shot somewhere and for that reason he was worth holding on to considering how hard it is to find RB's in a league that deep starting 2 rbs per team....

well if you didnt keep rudi, you may want to snatch him up now. Signed with Detroit. He should get some carries there with only Kevin smith in front of him...
