Do you ever miss your old home in Buttlickistan? I've never seen titanic either, but there are two reasons to see at least a minute of it.
that's odd considering your ethnicity.... that they would assume you either hate Jews or support what Hitler stood for. What's next, you're an Uncle Tom for enjoying 12 Years as a Slave?
??? I chose the word "hate" b/c it's less violent than saying "kill". Besides, isn't "hate" typically a default feeling behind wanting to kill a group of people, regardless of whether or not the hate is misguided or rational?
So you haven't seen Titanic. Funny, because I found it to be quite inspiring from the iceberg's perspective, after having sat through the first hour and a half.
IDK, ignorance?.... which seems to be growing increasingly pervasive.... or maybe I'm just getting older and more aware. Myself, I liked the movie. I can see how it could be inspiring if the eye-opening nature of it made the viewer pause for a moment of introspection that he would've otherwise not done at that very moment.
I found a movie with a guy who went into a business to take advantage of free experience slave labor to start seeing them as human and then dedicating his life to saving as many lives as he can, inspiring. Someone doing the right thing when it would have been much easier and profitable to do the wrong thing.
BTW, on the subject, have you seen Kinky Boots? Pretty good movie for those who aren't offended by the nature of it. Chiwetel Ejiofor was outstanding, per usual.
This came on the other night, and it ate up my evening. There is nothing dated about this imo. Watching it, I was stunned how well it held up. I don't think you can find a movie that holds up better, especially 40 years later. The way it was written, acted, scored, the dialogue. And it is so enormously popular, yet doesn't become a parody of itself. So good.
