Not sure of the exact numbers, but they're something like 6-14 against the spread in their last 20 games at home following west coast trip.

I'm sticking with my 6-10 prediction and saying flip a coin on whether they win this one or the Buffalo game.

I can't argue for the offense, your right, they scare nobody, but the defense is in tact, everyone is healthy, Smith, Jones, Clemons, Wilson, Carroll have played together all year, and I've seen our front 7 dominate better ground games, making the jags one dimensional will allow wake and co to pressure Henne and stiffen them in the red zone, which is something that were very good at, our special teams are better, and should play a role..I think the game will be somewhat close because of the lack of ability to score from both ends, but I think our defense is by far the most dominant unit so are 19 points should be enough..

This is all based in that everything is hunky dory and the players are not shocked by the antiseptic stadium.

I expect the Dolphins to win this week. The Jags are a bad football team and I think the organization is more concerned with the draft than it is with a win on Sunday.

Of course the players on the Jags will show up and compete and Henne will want to beat his old team, So anything could happen on Sunday. The last time a former Dolphin QB came into Miami on an inferior team, Culpepper and the Raiders handled the Dolphins fairly easily. Also the Titans were a big underdog to the Dolphins earlier this season and we all know how that game turned out.

If they lose, I expect even less fans at the Bills game and a further decrease in season ticket sales next season. Unfortunately the Dolphins could lose their next three games and end up 5-11 and Ross would still maintain the status quo. He just doesn't have a clue what it takes to be an effective NFL owner.

ok I will lay it on the line here and say if we win then we actually lose a good draft position because we are going tobe home atplayoff time sso wining a meaningless gamegets us nowhere , however a win is good for rooting for the team but its meanningles because it moves down in the draft .

if we lose Ireland should be fired anyways . he hasnt done squat even durring the season we used to bring in players through out the season and IRELAND HAS DONE NOT EVEN THAT.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL THE MEDIA to stop trying to influence MR Ross in keeping the gm ?

It's bad enough when the media tries to influence the team into taking a player like they did with Tannyhill .

so how does Mr Ross continue to sleep seeing the empty seats ?

Well the defense isn't in tact, are they? They lost by 14 points instead of having a chance to tie the 49ers at the end, because Jason Trusnik comes in the game for Koa Misi and can't make an open field tackle on Colin Kaepernick who, as Alen loves to point out, runs like Phoebe from Friends.

And in tact or not in tact I'm saying you're making a call on the defense stopping the run against the Jags when that's not necessarily an easy call to make. It seemed to me that the run defense even with Koa Misi in the game went from the kind of predictable, consistent, shut everyone down no matter how good they think they are run defense, to one that was allowing enough tough yards to be gained to where the opposing team could stay committed to running the ball and eventually soften us up in the fourth quarter. Our lack of offense aids in that effort.

The Dolphins run defense has not been weaker all season than it is right now. That's the reality. The Jaguars ground game with Montell Owens as opposed to Rashad Jennings appears to be on a cyclical upswing. It's arguable that they've had decent run blocking all year but lacked the back that could do anything with it. Maurice Jones-Drew was able to gain nearly 5 yards per carry. Even Jalen Parmele was able to gain about 4 yards per carry. Now Montell Owens is gaining nearly 6 over the last two games. I'm not saying these guys are going to run all over us but I'm not sure I see the evidence that our run defense is going to consistently pulverize their ground game and make them completely one-dimensional, either.

Yet some people don't feel this rests at the feet of the GM.

I think you're over reacting on our run defense. We shut down New England, Seattle and Buffalo's run game before facing San Fran.

    1. Buffalo ran 30 times for 121 yards and created nine missed tackles. I wouldn't call that "shut down" in any sense of the concept. A team doesn't run the ball 30 times because their ground game is being "shut down". And averaging 4.0 yards per carry is not "shut down".

    2. Though Marshawn Lynch himself had a low average, the Seahawks ran the ball 27 times and averaged 3.6 yards per carry. That's not a great average but again I look at how many runs and teams don't keep running the ball til they get to 25 to 30 carries because they're being shut down. I'm willing to toss out props to Miami's run D on this one because of how good Seattle normally is at running but even so, the ground game was not "shut down".

    3. Same with NE who ran the ball 29 times for 111 yards (with 8 missed tackles), and jammed it down Miami's throat during the most critical part of the game in the fourth quarter. Seriously, that drive lost any and every fan, player and coach the right to claim that Miami did a good job defending the run in this game. Sorry, but it's true. It was the ground game for New England that literally won them the game. That's not "shut down". Nor is 29 runs attempts a sign of a ground attack that's been "shut down". Ground success isn't always about pure YPC. Sometimes it's also about consistency in getting the tough yardage and bringing the sticks closer and closer...which allows you to stick with the ground game until the 4th quarter when all the sudden you've got the defense tired and on the ropes.

    1. Buffalo averages 5.1 yards per carry on the season. They averaged 3.9 against us. That's good.

    2. Seattle averages 4.6 yards per carry on the season. They averaged 3.6 against us. That's good.

    3. I don't agree with this at all. You're basing everything off one drive. That's not correct judgement. They average 4.2 Yards per carry on the season. They averaged 3.4 against us. That last drive hurt but doesn't erase what they did for the entire game.

That's 3 very good running backs we faced in Spiller, Lynch and Ridley. They are ranked 2nd, 10th and 16th in YPC on the season. And they did nothing against us. You don't have to call it shutting them down. I think we did. But what is clear is we stopped them. We had trouble against San Fran. So that is one team we struggled against in the last 4 games. I don't think that's the run defense fading down the stretch. And I like our odds against a team like Jacksonville.

Fellas, we have the 7-9 season perfected, we shall take this one and the Bills game and draft like 14th overall

We're "Diet Mediocre" not quite bad enough to land elite talent, not good enough to make a playoff run.

I think they win this one too. I believe they know what is on the line, and they will hopefully do an "Oakland Raiders" game on the Jags.

But if they lose, this place will be a total zoo. It will not be pretty. I can't even imagine what Fin Heaven will look like.

Well on a good note ... we'd draft higher :D

But then we turn a look at who is making the picks and we go right back down into grumpyville
