Is it more than just a demon filled Halo game? Thats what it looks like anyways.

The only time you'll possibly be reminded of Halo is when the shield users come out. Those are slightly like the Jackals from Halo. Everything else is pretty much classic run and gun style, with only the most basic narration. I've seen precisely 2 mandatory story scenes and I'm about 6 hours in.

Doomguy's design might remind you of Master Chief, but only because MC's is a ripoff of Doomguy in the first place.

The game sets the tone immediately when it flat-out tells you to "Rip and tear."

Been playing it on the PS4, it does remind me a ton of Team Fortress, which to me is a good thing.

After downloading all of the updates, patches, and DLC, I've begun a second playthough of The Witcher 3 on New Game +. My first one took me roughly from mid May through Mid July as the only game that I was playing at that point last year, so I suspect that this one will occupy me until the end of September when FFXV comes out.

Yo Desides, run any ops on Tanoa yet (new Arma 3 island for anyone who doesn't know)? I'm liking the island - huge urban areas with plenty of verticality. Playing Exile mod on it here and there.

Right now I'm mostly preoccupied by Dota 2, but I've played three rounds of the new squad since patch V7 which released vehicles, maps, new models, etc. Huge patch, and the closest thing I've played to Project Reality ever. Was a blast and will be getting back into squad with the latest update.

Not everyone in the unit has Apex/Tanoa, so there's a September 30 deadline. I'm assuming we begin using Tanoa on October 2.

Metal gear 5 was on sale....didn't really care for the earlier ones I don't have the patience for stealth but i can mix in some regular shooting so i like it so far...seems like a lot went into making it.

hopefully it will pass the time until Deus Ex mankind goes live.

I like them better when they're set in the Northeast, as beautiful as Rockstar's California is. I liked 4 as well because of the mobby aspects of the storyline, which was much more my cup of tea when compared to the white collar thuggery of 5.

Anyways I bought Abzu. Been doing some stuff before each time I play and the game and score is gorgeous.

Finished my second playthrough of The Witcher 3, this time with all of the DLC. Excellent, excellent game. Best I've played on the PS4.

Going to pick up Madden either Tuesday or Wednesday and then likely focus on that until the end of November when FF15 comes out, though I might check out the newer Ratchet & Clank if I find it on a good sale between now and then.

I have so much stuff, including recently bought things like Forza Horizon 3 and Destiny: Rise of Iron, but I can't break free from franchise mode.

I officially finished my 2016 season with the Cubs in MLB the show, played every pitch through the world series title. With still having six weeks until FF15 gets released, I found the new Ratchet & Clank on sale at Target for $19.99, so I picked it up, and will probably focus on that until after Thanksgiving.

I haven't played since summer of 2014. I got the DLC that allowed you to build a house, and had a lot of fun with that. I might pick the game up for the PS4 next summer if it drops a lot in price and I don't have anything else to get into.

its nice.. you get the enhanced version free if you have all the DLCs....So I purchased Dawnguard/Dragonborn etc for 17.99 on sale and am now starting a new play through utilizing the new (to me) content...quite fun.

    *edit*

it also has the new FO4 style Modding..very sweet.

I've never played a game with any sort of mod. I read an article yesterday that makes it seem pretty easy to install them onto the PS4.

Just finished up Deadly Tower of Monsters (it's a freebie this month). Solid game outside of the terrible platforming sections at the end. Cool 60s B movie setting and humor.

I may start Hyper Light Drifter next.

What do you think of Civ? Very mixed reviews around. Do you need to be online to play like Civ 5 forced you to be?

I don't think you needed to be online with Civ V, or Civ VI. You certainly have to validate online through Steam when you first install, but you should be able to launch steam in offline mode after that.

Anyway, I like it a lot. Played through three games so far (two wins, one loss). There are a lot of things going on, perhaps too much at times. But you can turn off certain ways to win if you don't find them enjoyable.

I'm also playing Civ 6. Love it. Not very good at it though. The depth added to the city building really sent it to the next level of detail imo. Alo just finished Titanfall 2 campaign last night. HOLY **** that was awesome. I can't get into the multiplayer (a little too fast-paced for my taste), but that campaign was fantastic.

I've racked up about 50% completion in Assassin's Creed Syndicate. This is probably what Assassin's Creed Unity should have been. Unity mostly ignored its setting for a boring revenge/love story. Syndicate makes you very aware of the setting by giving you missions that subvert it, like sneaking into factories and releasing child workers.

The downside of this is that you're beaten over the head with cardboard cutout characters. The playable male assassin is basically Edward Kenway recycled. The primary antagonist is a cartoon caricature of 19th century industrialists. Some of your missions involve providing security for Karl Marx, for crying out loud.

Every time Ubisoft takes a step forward with this series, they take a step back somehow.

I enjoyed Syndicate a lot. Once I was given the option, I played mostly as the sister. I just liked her style better. As we've talked about before though, the lack of story/game involving the current day mythology that should be driving the series is damning. They absolutely need to reintroduce that in the next game, and big time.
