This was a great week for the Miami Dolphins franchise.

Early in the week we learned that we signed Jake Long, who I think will be a fixture on this team much the same way Richmond Webb was. It'll be one of those positions you don't really need to worry about. It'll be a strength.

Friday nite, we got two players who are going to contribute greatly next fall for a fourth round pick.

Today, we picked up an outstanding DE in Merling. This kid plays with a great motor and I see him being a real force for our defense.

And we were able to get a fourth round pick for a player that the coaching staff and FO thought was expendable. So now we have picks in round three and four tomorrow. Thats a good thing.

And I know I am in the minority, but I like the Henne pick. He gives us two young QBs with a chance to be the franchise QB. I was incredibly nervous just going into the season with Beck and McCown. I feel much better now that our QB of the future is on the roster. I personally think Henne is better, but if I am wrong, so be it.

There are alot of options for the first pick tomorrow. My personal hope is that we take the DB, Charles Godfrey from Iowa. But I am not in love with any player. There are some Olinemen that would be good, other DBs, and the OLB Cliff Avril from Purdue that I think now is a value pick.

Whomever we pick, its been a great offseason to be a Fins fan...Finally. I really think this team is headed in the right direction and by next season, I think we'll be a playoff team.

I agree, nice post except the Henne thing. I still can't get over picking him.

Nice post, but you better lay off the coolaid a little. Playoffs next season is a bit over optimistic I'm afraid.
