So now you're saying that they did figure us out, but that is just normal?

That's much different than what you were saying awhile back, where it was just ridiculous to suggest that we were figured out.

Nope. I’m saying that defenses are doing something different and offenses are having to adjust mid season. As such most of these offenses have not been putting up the same amount of points. The past 3 games showed that the Dolphins offense has adjusted correctly. The results, mainly due to untimely fumbles and poor defensive play, haven’t lead to the results Dolphins fan wanted, but McD is adjusting correctly.

Look, football is a chess match. The game and the strategies have evolved over decades.

For every new offensive scheme that’s developed, defenses eventually adapt to be effective against it. The “Run & Shoot”, “West Coast Offense”, etc. offenses that dominated the league were eventually adapted to

For every new defensive scheme that’s developed, offenses eventually adapt to be effective against. The 3-4, the 4-6, the Tampa Two. Defenses that smothered offenses were eventually adapted to.

In some cases, what was old is new again. Remember Miami reincarnating the Wildcat? We tore teams up but eventually that was adapted to.

Teams adapting to offenses or defenses doesn’t make their system obsolete per se. A defense could indeed have an offense figured out so to speak but then it comes down to execution. If the defense executes their game plan effectively they’ll have success shutting down said offense however, if the offense executes its scheme better than the defense does their counter, the offense will have success.

You can’t say defenses have figured and offense out and that be the pinnacle of the debate. Talent and execution are always the main factor in who wins a matchup.

We put Ramsey and Howard on receivers confident that their talent and execution of technique would result favorably for us. Replace those two with Iggy or Smith? Trouble for us. The same can be said for other teams that out outstanding or substandard defenders on Hill or Waddle.

The same point and counterpoint can be made for every position on a team

If that is what is happening... If McD has adapted... It is worth asking why it took a year to make an adjustment that worked? Because w best up on some hapless teams early last year and crapped the bed down the stretch.... So why did it tak McD a whole year to make appropriate adjustments that other coaches would make at half time in one game?

We'll see. It would be nice if you are right.
