lol… Constantly screaming “Bust” and they “suck” gives a person a 50/50 shot. Somehow you’re worse than that.
That’s not “manning up”. That’s giving excuses and then claiming to be superior about everything else.
Actually that's called admitting you were wrong, and pointing to the reason why the player didn't end up translating to the NFL. But I suppose we can choose to characterize things in any way we want.
No genius, there have been occasions where I have liked some things Grier has done, although those good decisions are few and far between. Example I loved the Christian Wilkins and Robert Hunt picks and said so when we drafted them, which turned out to be probably his best picks otheer than X. Then I ****ted on him for letting them go in free agancy to extend overpriced veterans and injury prone players.
To quote the phrase that was used regarding Tua, "Your best ability is your availability" and let's face it, the Dolphins' offensive line hasnt been able to maintain availability. Last season, out of 17 regular season games, the Dolphins had 13 different starting offensive lineups...and that's just LAST season! As I said, he's been pretty good at drafting or signing free agent skill positions, but if you can't build the most basic and fundamental unit of the offense, that offense is going to struggle and let's face it, our offense has struggled for years!
This one cannot be, as no evidence solidly disproving it can be provided. No need to keep going as its lack of success is not a historical fact, and there is no data to either prove or disprove it.
Wilkins has 7 tackles and 1 sack as the second highest paid defensive lineman in the league. I liked Hunt, but paying a guard $100 million is stupid.
Zach Sieler was a better signing than Wilkins. Calais Campbell is better than Wilkins at a fraction of the price.
Also, the Jalen Ramsey slander is not justified. He got off to a slow start coming off the hamstring. He plays his *** off all the time. He was selling his body out on runs late in that game on Monday night when the game was over. He's allowing zero separation. At the end of the year he will be amongst the top cornerbacks in the league like he always is.
If the Dolphins had paid Wilkins what the Raiders paid him some here would be calling Grier an idiot for overpaying.
Calais Campbell was a good signing. I praised Grier when we signed him, but he is over the hill and only good for 1 or 2 more seasons. And Seiler is very good, but he's not better than Wilkins. Wilkins was the MVP of the defense last year. He earned his payday and is never injured, unlike Tua who is always injured and should not have been given the big contract.
For the millionth time, they offered Wilkins a fair market contract. He said no. He tested the market and got overpaid. That's how it works.
Shhhh… a “good” GM forces (somehow) all players to accept the contract offered and also makes it so other teams can’t overpay for their players. Duh!
