ESPN takes us 5-4, with Jaws refraining from picking due to his calling the game. It’s safe to say he’d probably pick the Patriots, as he’s picked them every week this season. Accuscore picks the Patriots, if that matters to anyone. FOX Sports likes us. Yahoo is split down the middle. Michael Silver and Jason Cole(!) pick us, but Les Carpenter and the consensus fan vote take the Patriots. CBS takes the Patriots, with only 1 dissenting vote against. BetUS has the Patriots at –1, making them 4 point favorites. And CHFF picks us. Looks like the consensus is that the only reason we’ll win is because Brady historically has a tough time in Miami, but otherwise everyone thinks the Patriots are a better team.
This is a HUGE game on Monday night. Lose this game, and the season could end up 6-10. Win and we could be 10-6, its that important. The whole psyche of the team would suffer greatly should we lose this game.
I will say this. Pete Prisco has been dead wrong picking the Phins all year. He picked against us weeks 1 and 2. Week 3 he picked us. This week he picked the Patsies. I'm betting on his ineptitude at picking games to continue in week 4.
I'm personally 13-3, 9-7 and 9-7 the first three weeks of the season in my office pool. I think the Pats take this game so shoot me now if you must.
Accuscore takes the Dolphins if they rush for 100 yards, just like last week against the Jets. Turned out to be correct too, we didn't hit 100 and lost. I'm assuming if we ran at the goal line, we may have reached 100 and probably would have won the game, so it's interesting. Not definite, but a good formula.
Since when does anyone give a sh!t about something as dumb as Accuscore? Yep, 2 more ten yard runs instead of ten yard passes and we would have won. Geez. Anyone in their right mind knows it was a defensive fall down.
the Pats can just be counted on to be more consistent offensively and that's because of Brady. You know what you're going to get from their offense week to week. You can't say that about Miami yet. Yeah we had a good passing game against the Jets of all people, but who's really to say for sure that continues? I don't have any idea what to expect most weeks from our team. And that inconsistency is what scares off most prognosticators and why you don't see more guys picking us.
I know, but if those runs were from 1st/2nd and goal then it could've been a huge difference, which is why I said it's not perfect but pretty good. Have to think Ronnie, Ricky or Polite would've scored from like 5 yards out.
