I’m not nitpicking you bro. Just being funny.
I agree that the first half was extremely close (mainly due to Tua’s boneheaded INT), but with the way the defense was playing I never felt worried. And I was hoping the offense would pick up in the second half, and they did.

That 92 yard TD drive, which was mostly rushing and ramming a poop sandwich down the Jets throat, was a thing of beauty. The offense had a clean, efficient, and mostly mistake free 2nd half. The defense played a near perfect game and sans for JP’s injury couldn’t have gone better.

Offense gets you to the postseason. Defense wins championships. The defense seems to be peaking at the right time. Hopefully they can sustain their upward trajectory.

Difference is, we beat *HIS* team yesterday. His "misery loves company " mindset is out in full force today.

Yeah, that's where I am, too. I know every year is different, but with the Dolphins, every year we've had a winning record has, if not repeated itself, at least rhymed since 2000. If we can get through this and win the division and win a playoff game, it'll go a long way to making me really believe it's different this time.

That describes every game day for me. I actually got worried when the Jests had their 2nd half drive for a TD because although I know we were in prevent mode, I've seen it backfire too often to be comfortable. Even in a game that we were dominating.

Look here's the problem with your point.
If Tua is the #1 quarterback, then REGARDLESS of the quality of the defense, Tua SHOULD be throwing for 7,682 yards, 27 Touchdowns and should be a perfect 157 out of 157 attempts. Sarcasm? Yes...but that's the assertion you put forth. This is what drives me BONKERS about folks who comment about football. It's all about the offense and the quarterback. There is another side of the equation...defense.

Do the Jets have a great defense? Sure, I'm not going to take anything away from them. Their defense showed up and did what great defenses do...shut down opposing offenses, or at least opposing quarterbacks. That's what they do!

Tua had a 77.5 passer rating against the Jets. Does that suck for Tua? Sure does however...

Mahomes had a 63.6 passer rating against the Jets
Hurts had a 59.5 passer rating against the Jets...with 3 interceptions
Herbert had a 65.4 passer rating against the Jets
Allen had a 62.7 passer rating against the Jets.

These are quarterbacks that many folks beat the drum of being great quarterbacks...and I'm not taking anything away from them or their individual abilities, but when it's all put into perspective, Tua didn't do that badly against this Jets defense. Did Tua make some ill advised throws? I already stated he did. Do those interceptions drive me as a fan nuts? Sure do but then again, this is what great defenses do. Look at what havoc OUR defense has caused the opposition.

Even with the Jets great defense, Miami's offense put up 27 points against that great defense. THAT should make everyone ecstatic and on Cloud 9 and if it doesn't, then you (in general) are pushing more of an agenda rather than being a true fan.

Tua didn't have a bad game, but I do find the pick-six troubling. That's something we can't afford against most teams.

I agree that Tua didn't have a BAD game, but he made some uncharacteristic mistakes.

I watched the replay of that pick 6 and already pointed out that Tua hesitated. If you go back and look at the interception, you see Tua pump hesitate then throw it. VERY uncharacteristic of him. He's ALWAYS been so decisive and when he sets, he lets the ball fly. For whatever reason, he hesitated which gave the Jets defender the jump on the ball. I don't know what caused that hesitation but I'm sure it's something that's going to be looked at this week in game film.

Had Tua NOT hesitated, like he usually doesn't, the ball would have been right there when the receiver made his break and the Jets defender would have never had a chance.

Yeah once he hesitated, he shoulda moved on. You just know it looked so tempting, he convinced himself it's not too late.

OrvWho knows, the initial pump fake might have been intended all along and he intended to go elsewhere... But then realized where he faked was awesome, so he decided quick to go there instead.

And that's when you throw a pick lol

I wonder if it was just a weird circumstance or if it was something the defense did purposefully.

Man, I hate those slow-developing long throws toward the sideline. It's like that 4-and-1 try against the Raiders that was blown up inside the 5-yard line. It takes too long for the ball to get outside and if the defender's paying attention, there's little to be gained from it. Those plays only work if the player is wide open and blockers are in place to create space.

I wish we would take them out of the playbook.

Allen before this last game had a 106.6 against the Jets. Dak had a 111.4 rating. Mac Jones 85.6. Russell Wilson 100.1. I don't think passer rating correctly paints the picture of how bad Tua was. An interception that results in a pick 6 isn't the same as a interception that is like a punt, or an interception in their own territory.

The Jets are a TERRIBLE team. They basically have no offense. If you want to get pumped at beating them, have it. I have a higher expectation and higher goals of the Dolphins team than you do.

But their defense is legit. And they got boat raced. Through the air and on the ground. So yeah their offense is dog chit but how do you explain them just getting embarrassed on D from this “horrible” offense?

Who said our offense is horrible? I wouldn't say giving up 27 points to a team that usually scores 30+ is "embarrassing."

Well the defense got a pick 6 to pull it to within one score, got another pick, and then their offense gave up another 6 to end the half. Emotionally that's wrecking. They certainly didn't get passed on. I think the running game just wore down their interior. They kept getting stops and getting nowhere on offense. The final touchdown was on a failed onside kick from a 35+ yard run after down 2 scores under 4 mins.

Ignore him. He actually had the nerve to say "If you want to get pumped at beating them, have it. I have a higher expectation and higher goals of the Dolphins team than you do" after saying Jack sh*t the week after we scored 70 points and collected 700+ yards against an opponent. He's not objective and he's not the one to talk about his expectations when all he "expects" is for the team and its QB to fail.

Go easy on the poor guy. Jets fans have to desperately try to convince anyone they can that Tua is bad because deep in their heart they know he is better than any QB they have had.

I didn’t say in my reply you said our offense is horrible. That came out of left field. Miami led from the opening drive to the end of the game. It never felt at all this one wasn’t going to be a W. The turn overs are concerning. I just rewatched the game and the defense has just a dominating performance. They game up some yards at the end but it was garbage time. Something you’ve noted in other seasons in regards to stats. It’s funny when it helps your narrative you jump on it but there are receipts in the register.

Have a great week. I will, basking in the glow of a J-E-T-S beat down.

I like stirring the pot. It's just so much fun! You said...

"Allen before this last game had a 106.6 against the Jets." The Jets won that game against the Bills 22-16...But tout that passer rating.

"Dak had a 111.4 rating" and the Cowboys won scoring 3 more points than we did.

"Mac Jones 85.6" A whopping 8 points higher than Tua and the Patriots scored 15 points.

"Russell Wilson 100.1"...and the Broncos LOST 31-21

We're winning...and you're complaining. Enjoy the ride...or jump off the wagon.
