Not a great way to close the half. Penalty, and a Ricky fumble.

Winning teams don't make the mistakes we're making. The bright side is we are only down 6, and the Jets are out their kicker. Looks like this is shaping up to be a dogfight.

So far, what has impressed me is the fact that we have not fallen apart, we had "reasons" to fall apart, we didn't, we did not set back and just say "fine" to the 2 pt try, we did not act dead with CP making that run.

Both D's are starting to step up though.

    And Big Jake...the trip.....LOL!

So far not too bad. This is where I expected the game to be at this point. I still see the Jets winning this but its possible that Dolphins pull it out with defense. Their loss of their kicker could be a big factor in the end. Some other notes around the league from the Jacksonville and Tennessee game. Tennessee is giving JAX offensive line hell. Khalif Barnes continues to struggle, now with Vandenbosh. The Jags defense is stopping everyone but Chris Johnson. They don't know how to contain him. He has a touchdown and about 82 yards total at the moment. Matt Jones is constantly matched up with Keith Bulluck and he's beating him. Jones had a strong camp after his cocaine bust and has impressed coaches which is why he stuck on the roster.

Who's Lucky? That second Favre pass for a td is lucky. The blocked punt taking a jets bounce is lucky

One key that could determine the game is the play action by the Jets. If Thomas Jones continues to have 5.25 ypc, they'll win this game.

we haven't been impressive, but we've done a good job covering up the jets receivers. we need to do better stopping thomas jones.

Most importantly... we need to stop making mistakes. were in the game... we just need to hang in there, and try to finish. our WR's need to start getting open and making plays... also our running game hasnt been as effective as id hoped... some adjustments at halftime, along with elimination of mistakes... and we definately have a chance of winning

I don't think we've player either well or poorly. One lucky whirly bird down the field TD away from a tied game.

Anyone else see Brady go down? If we can get cranked up a notch early this season it could get interesting. Pull this game off and get a gift fr the Patsies and the start of the division race looks real good.

Ray Rice has 10 carries right now in the Baltimore game. Shows how bad McGahee's knee really is. Rice has 4.1 ypc right now.

A TD would be huge but we just need points so a FG would please me and we have to hold down the Jets offense and god is that 4th down TD killing me right now. That could cost us the game.

We are lucky to be where we are. I can't believe that Favre TD...wow. Renaldo Hill blew it badly on that one. Thats what you get when you watch the QB and allow the wideout to sneak in behind you. Too bad to. Otherwise this is a tie game.

The Jets get the ball to start the second half. We need to stop them.

Pennington has looked awful. Flout out awful. He has missed receivers badly and the Jets now know how to attack this line and are going to force miaim to keep 8 or 9 in to pass protect.

GIVE RONNIE THE DAMN BALL! He is the only one doing anything on offense.

I can see the frustration the Jets fans had with Pennington though...the problem is...he has to wait a sec or two...hey has no mustard to really fit it in tight spots...

He plays smart..no doubt...but that arm is really holding some of our offense back.

Strangely if Brady is hurt we may see the Bills winning the division. Which would be weird. It looks like only 1 AFC East team will be 0-1 after today and its going to be the Jets or Fins so lets hope its the Jets.

    It's pretty much halftime everywhere.

In the other games, I'm surprised it's only 7-3 NE/KC ... also surprised to see Buffalo up 17-7 against Seattle. The rest of the games aren't too shocking, although the highest scoring game is Atlanta and Detroit.

    Halftime Notes
    -Score: 13-7
    -No turnovers for either team
-Dolphins have generated 2 sacks but have also given up 2 sacks
-Have to clean up special teams issues (punts, kickoffs)
-Brown and Williams have combined for just 36 yards on 12 carries
-Jones and Washington have combined for 53 yards on 11 carries
    -Ginn has no catches
-Injury to Nugent could be key in the second half
-Pennington started off very shaky (started the game 0-4) but has settled down (7-14 for 63 yards and a TD). Still need more out of the passing attack.
-Time of possession has been more or less even

samphin... i agree on your assessment of pennington... missing receivers, no zip on his throws, the td to fasano could have been picked it was thrown so weakly... his passes just look like they take forever to get anywhere... its a scary thought. I almost feel as nervous watching him throw as we used to with harrington...

Regarding Atlanta ... Turner has 10 carries for 135 yards and 2 TDs ... it has not been because of Ryan.

Not good Hasselbeck is 6-20 for 84 yards and a TD. With no running game.

Lynch has been the difference maker.

Possibly. Looks a lot like a torn ACL. Who knows. Could be just a sprain. Sounds harsh, but I'm glad to see the pretty boy get injured. If he's out for the year, we won't have to hear all the gross worship of the guy.
