I dont think it'll make much of a difference. I know most ND fans on other boards dont seem to be sad over this and some resent White quite a bit, so they're pretty happy to see him go.
ND got a couple more commits while I was on vacation. They added 4 star OG Alex Bullard from TN and 4 star LB Dan Fox from Ohio. I've been noticing more and more how many states Weis competes in for recruits. Most big schools clean up in their own backyards, Weis doesnt really have that same luxory so it's a testiment to how hard he's working; or how much he's paying http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=68863&sport=1 http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=77142&sport=1
Ben Turk, punter, from St. Thomas Aquinas in FL commited to ND. He's the cousin of Matt Turk so hopefully he's good. http://www.blueandgold.com/content/?aid=5507
i was on campus for my wife's college reunion the weekend this broke, and even heard the president of the University speak about it at the reunion dinner saturday night. they didn't seem phased at all, wished White well, and said ND will move on, and the search for his replacement had already begun at that time. the alumni didn't seem phased. and speaking of alumni, at ND, they host the reunion yearly for all groups in 5 year incrememnts (5 year, 10 year, 15 year reunion, etc.). that is until you reach 50 years, then you are invited back yearly for the "50 years and beyond" reunion club. this year, they had one alumni from the class of 1930. he was 100 years old, and was there during Rockne's tenure as HC!!! unreal. i met him briefly, very frail guy obviously, and wheelchair bound, but with a twinkle in his eye, and he seemed to be in great spirits.
Good article on ND recruiting, and the need to build pipelines in other states since ND doesnt really have a "backyard" to rely on. http://notredame.scout.com/2/762917.html And kicker Nicholas Tausch committed to ND. Looks like the special teams was an area of concern for Weis. http://notredame.scout.com/a.z?s=109&p=8&c=1&nid=3661478
Good article on Weis Not sure I agree that Weis is the most hated man in CFB, but I like the rest of the article http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=427392
I think Notre Dame will have a better season this year. Wies isn't a bad coach, just like the team isn't bad either. With the right motivation they'll have a great season.

ND signed Brey to a 2 year extension, which was well deserved imo. http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaab/news;...nYcB?slug=ap-notredame-brey&prov=ap&type=lgns ND also got a commit from 4 star CB Marlon Pollard. He had committed to UCLA but quickly saw the error in his ways http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=60294
Losing Hord isnt a big deal, the guy had a lot of potential when he got to ND but he just hasnt been able to stay healthy. Losing Walls is a huge blow however. He is arguably our best corner Team just cant catch a break. Hopefully Gary Gray is as good as advertised. http://notredame.scout.com/2/768622.html
Newest commit, Rival 4 star/Scout 5 star OL Chris Watt. http://www.blueandgold.com/content/?aid=5592 http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=73416
ND's new AD. Hopefully it works out. http://www.southbendtribune.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080715/SPORTS13/430486388/1129/News
New committ Ol Zach Martin. Glad we're bringing in more lineman. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=80355
Notre Dame is putting together a very well rounded class this incoming season. Wood and Riddick will provide good RB depth for when Allen, Aldridge, and Hughes are all gone, and with the OL additions Im excited for D football for the next 3-5 years!! GO IRISH!!
Yep. ND wont have the top class this year but it's very solid so far. I'm glad they're bringing in a bunch of olineman and Wood could be special. ND is really deep at RB, just need the oline to open some holes now.
Im still concerned about our DL (DT specifically) Im not a huge fan of the 3-4 to begin with. If the D struggles again this year Im all for getting rid of Brown and making Tenuta the full time DC.
I like Brown, and he's a good recruiter so far. Hopefully they can work well together to get this thing turned around. I think it's headed in the right direction
Pictures came out of him, James Aldridge and I think Brian Smith at a Beer Olympics party. They're sitting at a table with beer in front of them, no pics of them actually drinking. Clausen and Smith are underage, and Clausen was already cited once for having some beer in a car he was driving (the containers were not open). That's all I know about it, but I just saw Clausen and alcohol and stopped caring. He's 19, if he wasnt drinking I'd have bigger questions for him lol.
I doubt it, but I suppose it's possible. I'm sure they'll just say they couldnt prove he was drinking, and yell at him behind closed doors. He'll actually turn 21 next month I think (meant to say he was 20, not 19) so this wont be an issue for long.
Looks like Syracuse is going to step in and take the deal offered to Rutgers. 10 year contract, 5 games in South Bend with Syracuses 5 home games being played at the Meadowlands. Also, Rival 3 star ath EJ Banks committed to ND. http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?pr_key=71582 video - [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHDUMvoz-bs"]YouTube - EJ Banks - Montour, PA, Football[/ame]
"We are ND"?? We've been doing this cheer for 20+ yrs now, make a movie and now everyone coins the phrase "We Are (enter favorite college/university here)" My sister goes to ND and maybe it's the sibling rivalry, but I despise them. Or maybe it's Brady Quinn. I haven't figured it out yet. If my parents saw this coming from their Irish son, I'd be flogged....so, keep this on the DL.
Hahaha. I think my dad already has. I was the jock, she's the brains--obviously. I will say this. South Bend is an absolutely beautiful campus and being in that stadium is almost like watching a game at Yankee Stadium. You can just feel all the history. It's great. However, still not a fan, hahaha.
Starting TE Mike Ragone tore his ACL and his out for the season. We were already pretty inexperienced at TE due to graduations and transfers so this is a pretty big loss. Hopefully the stud freshman Kyle Rudolph is ready.
Hey DonShula84, new season coming up. Good luck with your Irish, you guys had a rough time last season. I hope it goes a bit better for you this year.
Today angers me. But at least its one less bye week to deal with later in the year. I got a sweet New Era ND fitted hat from Lids. Cant wait till next weekend when we show that this year we go back to being Notre Dame! Watch out SDSU cuz here comes the new Four Horsemen. Hughes-Aldridge-Allen-Gray
We all knew it would happen, but we finally have confirmation...ND finishes #1 in recruiting last year. It's nice to get a verbal, but recruiting kids who can actually get into the school is also a good thing... ND didnt lose any recruits, and it's surprising that only 3 teams in the top 25 can say that. Rivals.com Football Recruiting - New No. 1 in enrolled team recruiting rankings
