Every QB takes hits in games. Too bad.

Most Qb's have this thing called an offensive line that protects said Qb's. Welcome to Football anything else i can teach you?

Tannehill finished the season tied for 4th place in passes over 40 yards with CKap, Big Ben, Stafford, and Wilson. They all threw a whopping 10 completions over 40 yards.

He was also tied for 9th place with CKap in completing passes over 20 yards with 46 completions. His longest completion was 67 yards... tied with Big Ben - and ahead of Ckap, Foles, RG-ME, and Rivers.

7th in the league in 1st downs with 204, tied with Dalton and Palmer.
    6th in INTs.
Tied for 11th place in TDs with 24 with Cam Newton, and Palmer. That's 1 less than Brady, and 1 more than Luck and 3 more than CKap. (remember, he didn't do anything the last 2 games. 1 TD).

13th in ypg. Ahead of Luck, Foles, Newton, Wilson and CKap.
    10th in total passing yards.

All in all, not bad for our inexperienced sophomore QB, who was the most sacked and beaten up QB in the league.

I'd say it's too early to toss him and focus efforts elsewhere.

Also, there are rumors are that part of the reason Lazor chose to come her was Tannehill, as he is seen as smart and coachable with a lot of upside - unlike the word on Stafford with the Lions, who is seen by some as mistake prone and uncoachable...

You mean the same offensive line that kept him upright against the Jets and he still lost? Is that the one you're talking about, Mighty Football Wizard?

It's a team sport... let's not pretend that anyone stepped up and made plays or that any loss was solely on Tannehill.

What LY was alluding to was that he was sacked 58 times, hit 99 times, and pressured 134 times. Hard for a fledgling kid QB to overcome that season long beating. Helps when your receivers makes plays and doesn't drop 1st downs or TDs...

That and the complete lack of a run game.

He was murdered in Buffalo and got hurt. Played the Jets game on a bad knee.

I like Tannehill but I also still have some major questions about him particularly in big games.

Fair, but Pittsburgh and New England were big games and those were the two best games of his career.

I don't think anyone is saying he doesn't need to improve, but you have to be happy with his progress.

Given who his coaches are. Tannehill has done awesome.

That's true. I think Philbin is a terrible coach, in fact I think he's the second worst head coach in the history of the Phins franchise.

Glad we got Lazor... Philly had the #1 rushing OLine and running game. The Eagles were 2nd in the NFL in most rushing TDs at 19. They rushed for 5.1 yards a carry and lead the league at 2,566 yards.

In comparison, we rushed for a paltry 1440 yards, 4.1 ypc, and 8 TDs. We couldn't pass or run block.

Sherman and son needed to go. Neither were progressing Tannehill and they were teaching him to ignore his instincts when sensing pressure. He handled it better in College I think, or it could just be the level of pressure now. His footwork still needs work as well as does his timing. He needs a better and much more experienced QB coach period.

The interesting thing about running is the fact that 3 of the 4 teams in the playoffs are in the top 10 and the Broncos are 16th.

Between Manning and that receiving corp, that would be expected they would pass more than run. Knowshon Moreno is a large part of their offense though. He also rushed for 10 TDs this season and had another 3 receiving. He rushed for 224 yards against the Pats in their first matchup.

Man we could use a good 3 down back. In case that wasn't apparent to the entire world. How cool would that be? Love a guy like Bernard in Cincy. Would love to get Hyde 'cause I'm a Buckeye, but a good sized back w/ some power and moves, can catch out of the backfield and block. Is that too much to ask for?
