Lemme preface this by saying that I am absolutely against making this trade. That being said, if we are going to do something stupid, today would be the day. If we trade for Watson, the Tua era is officially over. Putting him onto the field on Sunday would be a Dolphins-level stupid decision. Do you want to risk injury to a guy that you are effectively saying, "We don't want you" onto the field. Imagine that Tua goes out there and suffers a season ending injury. Trading an injured player, especially someone like Tua who has a history of injury problems, is much more difficult than trading a healthy player. If we were 2-3, I could see this game salvaging the season. I think the playoffs are essentially a pipe dream at this point. If we don't pull the trigger today, we still risk losing leverage and getting a worse deal. Again, what if Tua gets hurt? Caserio, at best, would not budge from their current offer. Maybe the offer gets worse for us. What if Tua goes out there and has a bad week? Again, that plays into the Texans' hand. I really do not think that it works the other way. The Dolphins have seen Tua for a year and a half. Clearly, they are willing to move on from him. One game, no matter how good, should not change their underlying position. Today really should be the day if they are gonna make the move.
