Boston Celtics? Isn't that a conflict of interest? Then again, I suppose if he doesn't own 51% of either franchise, he's good.
I would assume he has to give up his minority stake in the Celtics in order to get this to work. When Magic Johnson came back into the league, he had to sell his minority stake in the Lakers back to Dr. Buss in order to play. He got it back when he retired again, but I would think the same rules would apply to owners too.
