I'm not a big fan of Walter's mocks, but Charlie Campbell is pretty good: http://walterfootball.com/draft2013charlie.php
He has a higher opinion of Allen than I do both in terms of over all talent and as a fit for our needs. I would guess that Banks, Ansah, Mingo, Okafor or even Vaccaro or Elam or more likely choices there. I do love getting Eiffert and Baliey later. I'd also probably switch our second 2nd round pick for Carradine if we didn't go pass rusher in the first.
I'd rather have Terrance Williams than Allen, more of a true deep threat imo. I'm keeping a close eye on Quinton Patton, Da'Rick Rogers and Tavone Austin, and I'm still intrigued by Marquise Goodwin. 1. Jonthan Banks 2. Matt Elam 3. Corey Lemonier/Sean Porter 3. Quinton Patton 4. Tank Carradine 5. Marquise Goodwin Pick up one of the quality WRs in FA, combine it with that draft and that might not be half bad. I would still love to get Da'Rick Rogers and see him as maybe the Mike Willams (Syracuse) WR steal of this draft. I still see Knile Davis as almost universally underrated and I'm bothered by the idea of not drafting OLB Sean Porter.
I'm a little bothered by Williams' lack of physicality. Receivers who lack that often bust at the next level or at a minimum take forever to contribute. My favorite WRs in this draft are Bailey and Hopkins. I also doubt that Elam or Carradine make it to the picks you used and those were my favorite selections in your draft.
I don't really see Williams as all that un-physical. He has good size, is decent over the middle and he can do a nice stutter step at the los and bust it up the sideline, and he strikes me as more physical than Markus Wheaton for example. Is he Da'Rick Rogers physical? No, and talent wise Rogers is still my favorite receiver in the draft- this Quinton Patton is growing on me as well. You could maybe swap the Patton/Carradine picks and get Carradine in the 3rd- my guess is that the 3rd rd is reasonable for Carradine coming off the ACL, and a combo of Carradine/Porter works for me. It's a shame about the ACL injury, because Carradine would probably be the odds on favorite for Miami at the #12 slot if that didn't happen. Maybe he'll provide tremendous value in the 2nd or 3rd rounds, who knows.
IMO Williams is a second round talent at WR. I think he could be more of a big play guy if he didn't trip over his own feet after the catch so often. He has good size, but isn't great at catching in traffic. I think he makes a living off of that uncontested comeback route b/c college CBs primarily play off and are scared of his deep speed. I don't see that as the case at the next level. I don't see his speed as special enough to get that respect and he'll have to fight through press more often. I don't see him being all that productive at the next level.
It's a bad comparison in my opinion as Wheaton compares(size) to a shifty Mike Wallace while Williams compares to a Andre Johnson. Wheaton is 6'0 (maybe shorter) receiver below 200 LBS while Williams is a 6'2-6'3 receiver above 200 LBS, Williams better be more physical than Wheaton.
As I said elsewhere the reason this mock is liked by people are the Tyler Eifert at #42 and Stedman Bailey at #82 picks...and those are the most unrealistic picks in the entire mock. It's not impossible that those players would be available at those spots but it is pretty unlikely.
Andre Johnson is to Terrance Williams as chocolate is to mayonnaise. I like the Roddy White comparison for Terrance Williams. That's the one I've been using.
