Head coach Mike McDaniel said in his press conference that Waddle will practice on Friday and Waddle is not yet ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Broncos. But McDaniel also made it clear that Waddle hasn’t cleared concussion protocol yet and the receiver has to do that first before the team considers his availability. McDaniel also noted that he’s “optimistic” about left tackle Terron Armstead’s availability for Week 3. “He’s given me reason for optimism,” McDaniel said. “He’s had a real good work week and so I feel good about where he’s at and I’m hoping that there’s just green lights and no red lights until Sunday.” Armstead has missed the first two weeks of the season, listed on the injury report with back, ankle, and knee issues.
I hope both are well enough to play without any questions. If it's a matter of the coaches needing to closely watch them to see if either displays concerning physical affects after every play, leave them out until there's no doubt.
He was experiencing concussion symptoms but was never definitively diagnosed with a concussion. Sue to the symptoms, he was placed in concussion protocol. If he’s practicing already, personally I don’t believe he actually suffered a concussion…but that’s just my opinion.
After all the drama with Tua's concussions last season I would think Miami will sit Waddle this week to be cautious. I'm not a doctor but I thought the only "test" for a concussion is what the player's symptoms are. If he had concussion symptoms wouldn't we say he had a concussion or am I missing something? Personally I would not play Waddle this week. We can win this week without him and have him ready to go against Buffalo next week.
