This is the best live performance of "Blood and Fire" to date. And I was there with my 10 yr old son. They were UNBELIEVABLE!!! Notice how spot on Eddie was with the guitar solo in the song. He was spot on and looks like he caught a second wind with his son Wolfgang playing bass and backup vocals. BTW, he sounds awesome on backup vocals! We were in section 102 at Consol Energy Center (Formerly Mellon Arena) in the first row. I did that because my son is still short and I wanted him to be able to see over the people on the floor. These seats would have cost a small fortune to buy if it were a Penguins game. There actually is no row A or B for hockey games in that section. They actually cost $384 on ebay, including overnight shipping. Here you go, enjoy!!! :
As a Penguins fan, I must correct you. The Consol isn't the former Mellon. The old Igloo was a different building.
It's not that Wolfgang is bad, but Michael Anthony's vocals are just so powerful that it's hard not to recognize they aren't there. It puts more pressure on Dave to not run around and skip parts he doesn't feel like singing. And that's not his strong suit. But those are fairly minor quibbles. Eddie does sound good. And it's hard to get a good read on Alex. But he usually has his stuff together. I'm glad their finally coming to Memphis.
You're right. I was told by the hotel girl that used to be mellon arena. I was thinking that wasn't right (not a big hockey fan) but I figured she knew. Maybe she meant to say that's where the Penguins play now... Anyway, what did you think of that solo Eddie ripped in "Da Burgh"?
