Teams may have passed on him because of contract value. A third round pick isn't exactly expensive but it's still more than teams want to pay him. They want to be paying him the minimum and asking him to make the team.
Signing a cb seems logical in this situation given they just cut Garrard. That is what I would expect unless they sign a backup ol with Jerry and Long injured.
Van Dyke said the Dolphins never even contacted him after he cleared waivers. Now he signs with the Steelers. With the far superior track record of the Steelers front office, it sort of makes ya go hmmmm.
