A huge match, the US has really improved to the point they consistently beat Mexico, but the US is 0-and forever at Estadio Azteca and the Mexican Soccer fans can be crazed at times.

Should be fun to watch for a change.

    I know, isn't that crazy?

In the US Soccer is looked at like Tennis or Golf or something, occasionally interesting, but not worth getting heated up over.

This should be a good game. There are a lot of quality soccer games today, including Holland - England, Russia - Argentina (it ended already but it was a good game), Switzerland - Italy, and Ukraine - Turkey could end up being a good game between two sides that aren't world class. Oh and Bosnia plays today. :D

Going to watch U.S.-Mexico and Uruguay-Algeria at the same time. Uruguay's game is a friendly, but any opportunity I get to watch them, I take advantage of it.

As for the U.S., they will need to overcome the psychological disadvantage, as it isnt much more than that. Mexico isnt one of the top 5, 10 or 15 teams in the world as Donovan said on Sportscenter yesterday. They're an average team, that if you come out firing, you can beat easily. It just underwent YET ANOTHER coaching change and while Bob Bradley had a chance to evaluate their players in the Gold Cup, they did not have that opportunity as the U.S. played their B team

And the reason why soccer has struggled here was mentioned above. In other countries, soccer is a working class sport. You play it at recess since youre a little kid with whatever you can: a bottle cap, anything. The professional soccer players come from humble beginnings. Sports like basketball are more for fancy people there as you need more infrastructure to play it and its just not there in some countries. Here, football, basketball, those kinds of sports are viewed for the working class, and soccer are for little kids, or rich white boys. That is the main problem. A low percentage of the population is rich not only in the U.S., but everywhere in the world.

But in the soccer countries, a pretty huge percentage of the population is working class and below.

You both have my respect. I can't tell you how much it pisses me off when people (Americans) root for other countries because their great, great, great grandpa on their mom's side spent a weekend in Barcelona or some ****.

"Oh, my dad nailed a French girl once so I root for France in the World Cup" GTFO.

    /end patriotic, semi-culturally insensitive rant

In my case, the first team I root for is Uruguay, as I was born there. Since sometimes we dont make the world cup(like last one), I rooted solely for the U.S. I root for the U.S. in qualifiers and everything, and even if both teams are in the WC, I'll root for both teams unless they face off against each other, in which case I would root for Uruguay.

What pisses me off though is to have people from this country and other countries in South America be "die hard fans" of a team in Europe, when they've never been there and when they have teams from their countries who could face off against their "die hard" European team. Like Colombian people rooting for Barcelona or Manchester when they have good teams in Colombia, and same goes for Argentinean people to a lesser extent since you dont see it as much, and even in the U.S. The MLS isnt that bad.

GOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL!. I am having a lot of trouble trying to watch both games. I only have audio on for the Uruguay one though. And the amount of people in the U.S. watching is tremendous. My sister(Doesent give a **** about sports), watched the pregame show and my dad is watching at work, and he doesent give a **** either, and its his bday.

Go here. There's six links in different languages in which you can watch the US as well as other games. Just click on the game and it will pop up.

Why is Altidore not playing, or am I just missing him on the field? He's the best offensive threat the US has.

Maybe they'll bring him in the 2nd Half, when Mex's D is tired. I've see them do that before and it's payed dividends. I'd much rather see him start though TBH.

From someone that has been watching plenty of soccer his entire life, that was one of the most fixed games, if not THE most fixed game I've ever seen.

Bad call on the canceled goal, no yellows for Mexico when they clearly deserved at least 4 or 5 more than what they got. NO RED for Neri Castillo who was ridiculous in his short time in the field.

You have to understand that Mexico is a huge country, and they all love soccer. If Mexico misses the world cup, then FIFA loses MILLIONS of dollars compared to a country like El Salvador or Honduras making it. Those fans are just as passionate, but theyre not as many, and there's not many people in those countries willing to go to South Africa.

But you had to love the balls put by this USA team. They never gave up, they never completely fell back on defense, and they weren't scared that they were on the road like they were against Costa Rica.

Im proud of the boys and this team will make us proud come next summer!

I had recorded the second half, saw the first half and was going to catch up when I got home... but just accidentally saw the score... oh well. At least I won't be pissed off when I'm watching the game. US soccer has come a long way in the last 15 years. This is undoubtedly the best team they've had. Should be interesting come next summer!

It's funny how Landon Donavan and the the rest of the USA players always try to sugar coat things, but bottom line is this team choked once again in a big game, just like they did a short time ago to Brazil.

How did they choke? Do you understand soccer at all? Do you understand how big home court advantages are?
