And Kobe Bryan is on it. Hopefully this is the team to put the US back in control. Carmelo Anthony Carlos Boozer Chris Bosh Kobe Bryant Dwight Howard LeBron James Jason Kidd Chris Paul Tayshaun Prince Michael Redd Dwyane Wade Deron Williams http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/olybb/news/story?id=3457058
I'd actually prefer Kobe to get that finger fixed but oh well, hopefully we can win gold. Not bad of a roster. Would've hoped they could add another 6'11 and up big to work with Dwight and Bosh but our guards are rock-solid.
Man I am excited about this team Go for the gold guys. If you want to join the Usa Olympics club here is the link come join me http://forums.thephins.com/group.php?groupid=8
Nah. KG declined awhile back saying "its time for the young fellas to experience it". I don't know how long ago that was but I remember the ESPN article.
I guess he has a point...it's only every 4 years. I think starting line up should be: PG Kidd SG Bryant SF James PF Bosh C Howard
In all seriousness, I think he's the perfect coach for international competition. It needs to be a college coach IMO, as that is closer to what the international game is about. There's no reason this team should be losing to anyone, much less the likes of Puerto Rico.
http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/beijing/basketball/news?slug=ap-bko-canada-us&prov=ap&type=lgns Good tuneup for the team. Even if Canada doesn't have Nash.
I hope the FIBA refs don't whistle Howard for a ton of chippy fouls like they did Tim Duncan. Our lack of big man depth is a big worry. We really should have taken Chandler over Prince, and I'm as big a Prince fan as you'll find. And if Chandler was too hurt, another big then. Amare Stoudemire, perhaps.
Definitely. Someone should've noticed that the team is lacking in height. Chandler or Stoudemire would've been a better fit that Prince.
bought a newspaper today and in the sports section the ONLY person in the picture caption was Kobe....apparently theyre a little happy about it. lol
I assume that someone thought about it and decided that a defensive swingman with decent range was more important than a 4th big. I think its a big mistake, personally, but we'll see.
