thanks man.. i was worried he'd be gone here shortly... and that you'd take him. I wasn't going to move up, but I fell in love with this kid the more I watched him. So much for the weak draft talk (ehem)...
Ahh, GIK. If, Cameron Jordan had fallen 4-5 more spots, I would've made a strong push to trade up and take him. It would've probably costed my whole draft + something, but he has the ability to start right away imo and was one of the few guys in the first round that I was looking hard at. Good pick, even though I think he would be more valuable to a 3-4 defense. Again though, could be wrong about that in the end.
Making the choice to trade down was one of the tougher decisions I've had to make as GM of the Chiefs. There were several players whom I really liked and felt like they could mesh well with my team and what I want to do, both on offense and defense. But at the end of the day I felt they were luxury picks, so I went the Bill Belichick route and traded down ... I should still get some players that will help me out and allow me to draft better value in the process.
He's got some Richard Seymour in him in that he can play most positions on the line. You could even stand him up on run downs if you wanted. He's a very talented player.
Yeah he was the other DE i considered at 19. Interesting to see them go back to back. And im even happier that i traded up when i did. Props to the Falcons in giving ke a fair deal. Back to Jordan. He certainly offers some position flexability. Hes very strong at the POA. Probably better suited for a 34 front. Solid against the run. More likely to play straight away vs Watt. But he doesnt have as high of a ceiling. I look at watt and he reminds me of Odrick.
They have some comparisons (Watt; Odrick). Odrick's a bit more agile IMO. Watt was moved in to 3 technique on third downs.
i'm putting my #22 pick on the block so this could be awhile. how long do i have before the pick has to be in?
