I think the real Rams would be pretty happy if Bowers made it to #14.

Nice value with the Bowers pick. I could see him going Top 5 in April.

Nice pick by the Rams... makes a lot of sense... you put him opposite Long and wallah...the injury and the drop reminds me of fellow Clemson DE Phil Merling. Similar... very similar...

Thanks guys. I had a couple trade offers and I didnt think DE was our biggest need, but with Bowers still on the board, he was just to good to pass.

Bowers is an excellent value pick. Great example of a GM going BPA. We’ve had several of those already, IMO.

Yes, its an opinion, like yours is. If you're using Scout.com's star ratings, you might as well provide no support to your opinion.

This draft class might not have some of the elite talent at the top like a Suh or Bradford, but it's still a pretty good draft and IMO is deeper than last year, especially at certain positions. This draft is absolutely loaded at HB, WR, and DL and while all of them have question marks, there is more upside at the QB position than there has been in a while IMO.

FWIW, I tend to agree with Paul that this class is not nearly as decorated or as talented as last years. I mean the 2010 I thought was the most deep and talented to come out in probably a good decade. So if thats the standard for Pauls comparison he is right in my opinion. When we were doing this draft last I felt like there were starting caliber players even in round 5 and good reserves in rounds 6 and 7. I just dont see that kind of depth in this class. Its not a bad class but probably around average. A lot of good players players at the top but few I would project as great.

i think the draft is ok. it lacks superstars at two key positions: offensive tackle and quarterback but it has other positions that have both superstars and depth, wide receiver probably the best class in over ten years

Well, this is certainly getting out of hand.

Another BPA pick with Quinn. I don’t think he lasts nearly that long in the real draft. Not sure about the fit on that Dolphins roster, but BPA is BPA.

Dont u know I LOVE me some pass rushing LB's.....OLB 3/4 is where he best projects, this opens up more options for Fin-O and Mike Nolans hybrid defense.

He might be better off as a 4-3 rush end, IMO. Still the best player on the board. You can always find a spot for a guy like that.

And there goes Smith. Definitely a need, but unsure if Smith is worth the 16th pick. Had him more in the 18-22 range.

I think he can be a good DE in a 4-3, but he isnt strong enough to be a game changer going head to head with OT's in the NFL, in the 3-4 or in our 3-3-5 he can use his burst to get to the QB.

Nice pick by Arizona, imo Smith is the best OT prospect in the draft...He has put on the bulk needed to go along with his quickness.

I see him going a tad earlier in late April.

as to the class bickering about opinions, you could go back and look at alen's opinions of previous drafts and scout's opinion and see if one is better/accurate if anyone really cared enough to see if one is better than the other.

Or we can do the petulant teenager thing "You suck no you suck!", that's more amusing to me anyway.

Honestly I think he will end up going higher come April. I have him in about the range I took him, but I felt he was the best LT and that was really my only need right now. I could have waited and taken one of the others at 25, but I'm just not sold on any of the other tackles and like Smith's upside.

Im always open to going back and comparing draft projections, sadly some (NOT U ALEN) dont like to do that because they dont realize that this is nothing more than an educated guessing game. Opinions will vary for different reasons, I have had some real nice picks I hit on and some real flops.

The NFL is a BILLION dollar industry and the "experts" they employ are wrong all the time, yet so many just dont want to talk about the picks/players they whiffed on.

Reading evaluations is entertaining but in the end YOU have to look at a player and make your own decision...as far as others opinions? Some hold certain peoples opinion higher than others because of perception, and thats basically how it always happens.

McShay and Kiper have jobs because they work hard on finding inside information and have entertainment value not because they are right.

I agree completely. I started taking shots for every 3 that VCU hit. I think I'm up to 8 or so.
