From Kotaku. Leaked Italian language marketing information supposedly reveals details on a new model Xbox 360, this one with a physical redesign, rather than just new internals. Apparently it comes with a 250GB hard drive and internal wi-fi.
Video at the link. Also, Natal is being renamed Kinect.

Actually maybe sooner. I got the PS3 slim because it's easier to take when I go out of town for work. If the new 360 is a decent amount lighter I'd have to consider it too.

I wouldn't say impossible. It depends on what changes Microsoft has made.
Sony's stuff is near-impossible to hack these days, just to contrast.

I doubt they're redoing their optical drives... Unless they found a new even cheaper one (I guess sound weighs in as well). Either way, if it isn't moddable on day one, I give it 2 months tops.

Like the PSP Go, yes. And PSP firmware 6.x still hasn't been hacked to my knowledge. I'm still running 5.50 GEN-D3.

All ragging on the PSP aside, it's become the console i hate more than anything in the world. If Sony offered it at a reasonable price I might get back into it.

I'd submit that the PSP Go hasn't been hacked for the same reason firmware 6.x hasn't been hacked: it's tough.
And the PS3 is still not hacked four years into its life. The root access stuff from a few months ago went nowhere.

Just buy it used. I bought a PSP-2000 with CFW pre-loaded for $80 a few months ago. I needed to replace the scratched-up front panel, and I'm toying with getting a new screen, but it's a solid unit. My biggest problem is that the emulators haven't advanced as far as I had hoped.

Microsoft says the new model 360 won't RROD. They say that not because of improved build quality or improved quality assurance testing. No, the new 360 won't RROD because it has no red lights. So instead, when the new 360 breaks, we'll get... a green ring of death, I suppose.
I feel a really strong compulsion to compare Microsoft to BP right now.
