    Nice, I got the Ultimate 2008 PPV with Mir/Nogueria, Jackson/Silva, Evans/Griffin, etc...

They had a pretty limited selection at my Best Buy.

I had to get through Ortiz and Lidell, but I finally got another title shot.

    Made mine a Kickboxer/Wrestler, I'm 5-0 with 5 1st Rd KO's

Dumped almost all my points into Striking Kicking Offense so far. My high leg kick is cracking skulls! Fitting as my nickname is "The Headhunter". :shifty:

Speaking of, that is my one and only complaint so far, same with FN, its 2009 people learn how to program some name recognition!!! These cheesy nicknames are lame!

Rod "El Toro" Steele dominates when he is standing up.

When taken down he is very easy to submit.

Dude... I have the funniest UFC 09 story...

Mindwarp made a light heavyweight... Started off rough, but finally came into his own. A brawler through and through, Warp NEVER uses the block button lol

He get's a title shot against Rashard Evans (who is #1 in Warp's game) and get's demolished. Three fights later, he gets another title shot and goes through a WAR and get's knocked out in the 3rd. UFC gives Warp a message saying he has one more year before he's forces to retire for health reasons.

Final title fight... Warp VS Rashard Evans. Evans loves to scoop and then ground and pound you to death. Warp slips the right stick when trying to grab a punch and accidentally lies down on his back (in the 1st round) thus inviting Evans to jump on and begin the GNP onslaught. Warp was knocked out in the first round in his final attempt at the title. Sad sad day for his fans.

UPC gave him one final retirement fight VS Rampage Jackson... Who also knocked Warp out in the 1st. Good times.

I'm thinking about creating a Boxer/BJJ Heavyweight next. I need to get Rampage's haymakers for my own guy. He's pretty nasty in this game.

i bought this yesterday, played some with my room mates. cant wait to create a fighter. at work right now jonesin....i love how the game plays, though im not to good at combos yet, and the only complaint i have is how easy it is to tap someone out. scoop them, hit them a couple times and press in R3, then press a bunch of random buttons and you win by submission it seems...i dunno..

So I made a new guy and he's a boxer and a BJJ. The first 8 fights I pretty muched dominated with my boxing. The hooks were killin fools. But when I started getting to people like Matt Hughes and Deigo Sanchez I had to use my BJJ and still got dominated, my guy is way too easy to take down. I've lost four out of my last five. :pity:

I have something like 60 Takedown Defense and I still get taken down and destroyed by submission guys.

Def. I'm a complete level 3 in boxing and have yet to receive any points at all towards wrestling.

I can win most fights bc I'm a beast standing up, but it blows bc I still wana see all the different wrestling slams.

Cred isn't money... It's just credibility in the UFC world. The more Cred you have, the more sponsors want you and the bigger fights you get. You also get equipment for your gym... This helps you get more points when training and sparring

I cannot beat Nate Diaz!! I finally was going with him toe to toe made it to the third period. Dude comes out first punch knocks me out. :pity:

Then I went on to beat BJ for the title. But when it comes to the wrestlers I'm screwed so far.

My record so far is 7-2 as a kickboxer/wrestler. I got my *** handed to me by Houston Alexander of all people! So far I love the game, but my only complaint is the slow, slow, slow menus.

i love this game but i hate these goddamn menus. it takes like 15 minutes to change a friggin logo on ur shorts.

my only other issue is that my fighter fought for 7years and never aged once. not really a big deal but just wierd.

Alright, so I finally got my X-Box back tonight after a long, long wait. Coincidentally, UFC Undisputed arrived today in the mail. I plugged it in and I've been playing it for the last few hours. My guy is a heavyweight, kickboxer/judo combo, and I've focused on building up his standing kicks - they seem to be pretty lethal here in the early going (I am 3-1, ironically losing my very first fight).

    Here's more of my thoughts:

    The Good
    • Engine: I was worried a lot about this game, fearing it was going to be another arcade-like SmackDown game. I've been pleasantly surprised at the depth that it affords. I really like the way that the system works.
    • Graphics: Man, this game looks absolutely incredible. I'd call it photo realistic. For a guy who's last real fighting game like this was No Mercy on the N64, it's a quantum leap forward. Man I love the way the animations look and how fluid everything is.
    • Career Mode: I'm a big RPG guy, so being able to play through a fighting game and customize my fighter as I go along is incredibly fun. I love being able to customize my fighter, from both his look, to his trunks, and of course all of his fighting attributes. I like the calendar, it feels a lot like a "season" mode in a regular sports game, like Madden or NCAA.
    • Playability: I've been able to step right in and pick this up for the most part, though I am sure need to work harder, particularly at using the block buttons. It seems to be easy to pick up and play, though to get really good at the game will take some practice. Hats off to Yukes for striking the right balance in game play.

    The Bad
    • Finishing Touches: As someone else pointed out, the lack of name recognition kind of sucks. It really takes me away from the immersion of the experience. It can't be that hard to do this - after all 2k sports programmed in nearly all of the names of college players for the College Hoops series. I also have to agree that the menus ... move ... slow.
    • Ground Game: I really want to get my fighter on the ground and unleash some submissions. I've found it next to impossible to take folks down, though I was able to get some ground and pound going after a big kick to the head in one of my fights. I want to slap a submission on someone, but more often than not, I find myself doing next to nothing on the ground. Maybe I'm not pushing the right buttons or don't have the right stats to focus on.
    • Unlockables: I don't really care about the sponsors, but I do wish that there was other things for you to unlock after certain points in career mode. I think it would be cool for you to be able to unlock new fighters, venues, or even more brutal versions of moves. I also don't understand why you don't gain points to apply to your fighter. I like the rep system but it appears to be basically worthless - I'd much rather get points to apply to my fighting style, particularly here in the early going as I'm focused on improving my fighter.

Overall, I really, really like this game. It's by far my favorite fighting simulator since No Mercy on the N64. The computer is intelligent, and it doesn't just let me pull off the same moves over and over. It adjusts to what I'm doing - and punishes me if I continue to go to the well. I'd give this one a 4.5 out of 5 stars, though that rating may be higher or lower as I get further on into the game. I had a blast playing it for the last 3 hours, so I'm hoping that I can continue to get good mileage out of it going forward.

yea, it would be more fun if rep allowed more signature moves or something along that nature.

I would also love if the commentators were able to comment somewhat on my career. For instance if I am having a rematch with someone, just mentioning that El Toro is having a rematch with Franklin and lost last time in the second round would be pretty sweet.

One thing I have read is that it is next to impossible to submit the computer in career mode. I have been able to take them down as a wrestler after putting some effort into my wrestling. I have actually won a match from taking them down and grounding and pounding.
